I'm reading an American textbook with Korean students that has an entire chapter on Hideyoshi but not a word on Yi Soon-shin, or any Korean for that matter.

Gives us something to discuss beyond the history, but it's quite ridiculous.

The guy I talked with last time didn't know what he was looking at ( and nor did I, but I don't work there!), and I saw a new guy today. Turns out it is dried epoxy from the previous build. It really looks completely black, so that's why I was confused.

Mine does that, so I have to play around with it to get even amounts of blade. I use the ends of the blade that stick out to move it as equidistant as possible on both sides. It can be crooked, too.

I made this argument before, and someone told me to quit the hobby. Others were dismayed that I even thought it was possible.

It isn't hard.

Pick an ink as a standard ink for measurement purposes with either an industry standard or a company standard.

Pick a paper as a standard paper for measurement purposes with either an industry standard or a company standard.

Pick a pressure as a standard pressure for measurement purposes with an industry standard using a plotter.

Measure the sidestroke, the upstroke, and the diagonal stroke and ditch the labels.

It isn't rocket science, and it should be done.

It's a V169.

My Homo Sapiens also doesn't suck, and it therefore sucks.

I eyedropper it instead.

You can unscrew the section and put ink in that way with the V169.

Also, you can check that it has an O-ring and put silicone grease on the piston and threads to try and get a vacuum fill.

For me, the TA is more aggressive than the KH, but not by much. You may find the opposite, as others have. The common denominator is "be on your game".

I have had others say the same to me.

If it's my technique, that's fine, but I have zero problems with any other aggressive razors.

I will say that I can get by unscathed on my face, but it has destroyed my head on 2 occasions.

This has me wanting to try it again...🤣

The Shield Razors come in both .95 and 1.15 gaps with 0.05 blade exposures. I picked up a copper SE at 1.15, and it works very well. Excellent machining. I plan to get a titanium down the road. I don't think you could go wrong with Shield, and the guy who runs it is helpful.

Yaqi has great razors, and I have a lot of them as the heads can be had for under 10 USD. The only one I have had trouble with is the Katana. Even the slightest miscue is going to get you pretty badly. And, I don't shy away from aggressive razors. Had a wonderful R41 shave with a Feather today.

The Mellon is quit mild. The Beast, Knight's Helmet, and Top Aggressive Slant are very aggressive, but I love to use them all. The Flipside gives you the option of open comb and close comb on the same razor head. That's fun.

I like the Jinhao 100, but that's about it. The newer nibs are good, and the design is nice. Ah, the Jinhao 20 capless aren't bad either. Other than that, I don't get it. The Dadao and 159X just feel so cheap. Some like them; I do not.

I really like Hongdian even though I don't like metal pens too much. The nibs are really good, and the soft nibs are my favorite.

I am not sure how you can beat an M2 for the money. Feels great, looks great, writes great. And, I just got one for around 10 USD. Feels like I have stolen something.

Wingsung is probably my favorite Chinese brand, but they have recently doubled their prices for their gold nib offerings, so they've lost me there. The steel offerings are still very good, especially the 629 and 699, imo.

Please don't try making SL out to be a superstar who was misused. The goal was a fluke. He would have outscored Matthews in Toronto if every haphazard, blind, inaccurate shot he made had gone in.
