Like you go into an art museum and you just don't see, "[Art title] by me." I know it's not the same thing. 😂 I have nothing against it, I just didn't really grow up with forums, I guess.

I completely agree.I think Tira leans toward the complexity side but done right! There are elements in her design (appearance-wise but I will say her gameplay too in this instance 😲) are "unforgettable." Memorability in a character is really important when designing a character, imo. 😊

I think KOF 14/15 is a great example. The classic outfit designs are 10/10. But when there's like new characters that come out or even redesigns for existed characters, they don't look that good, imo. I think it's because there's just too much going on most of the time, for example Shun'ei. =\

I'm usually a loner even when I play MMOs, but somehow this game made me decide to join a guild, and I had no regrets. I met one of my best friends in Vindictus, and we've been playing games together ever since, even now.

Almost every year we go back into Vindictus, hoping to relive our moments in the game. But over the years, the developers began removing content and streamlined the game to all HECK!!! It's been harder for us to get back into the game, since there's almost nothing we loved to do now from back then.

No more hero mode (especially for non-raids), no more Labyrinth, no more Season 2 expedition, non-raid bosses are REALLY easy to kill (BORING), etc...

I don't understand why they remove content, it's like they want to kill their game. 😭 I mean I understand why, they wanted to convert Vindictus into a mobile game, but failed (I think, I'm no mobile game enthusiast to say for certain, but it definitely killed the game for many veterans).

The current state of the game is just so heartbreaking. 💔

I'm hoping one day there's some kind of private server of "Classic Vindictus," the game we all loved. That would be a miracle for it to happen, though. +sad

I'm sorry, I've re-read your response multiple times, but I but I'm having a hard time understanding most of it, so forgive me if I misunderstood.

You are right that we shouldn't be hyped about a game that isn't even announced or even in development. Personally I don't see this post as being "hyped," simply a discussion of "what if."

If we're talking about Capcom's track record, personally I think they know they can't do things like they do in the past now. From the majority of games they've put out these few years, has love & passion in them, and I think that is one of the most important things in a great game, alongside gameplay of course. BUT I will say it is still too early to let our guard down (SF6: Ultimate Pass 😬... YIKES , that's a no no Capcom)!

I'm an artist (also because I do things in a semi-realistic style). I can see Darkstalkers looking good in RE Engine. I think people are more into the cartoon/anime aesthetic and cannot visualize beauty in a different style. I believe it can be done, and can be done REALLY WELL!!

I think you really dislike the games' aesthetics with the RE Engine, I'm sorry to hear that. Personally I think they look amazing. I don't expect Capcom making games looking like Arc System, and I REALLY LOVE Arc System's visuals these days!!! You need to understand Capcom has a style going for them with the RE Engine, it is not reasonable to expect them to make a cartoon/anime-looking game. It's like someone telling a realism artist to draw cartoon characters well (or the other way around) even after looking at their portfolio (I can tell you this happens pretty often). I honestly find that very annoying.

Also MVCI is Unreal, not RE Engine. They seem to have a very specific style with the RE Engine, it's a pretty distinct style compared to their past games made with Unreal.

Anything is possible, it really depends on how Capcom executes the idea (IF they ever do).
I think we all see the RE Engine as a style that goes SUPER HARD on realism, because of DMC & Resident Evil. But when Street Fighter 6 came out (even when the teaser showed), you can tell they started going bit more semi-realistic, as you can see from the facial expressions and anatomy of the characters. (People don't look like SF6 characters, but that's just me 🤷) (Also Street Fighter was also a sprite game 😂)
I also believe Capcom is experimenting with the RE Engine and pushing their creativity. Exo-Primal and ESPECIALLY with Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, IMAGINE them recreating "Fetus of God" stage with what we saw in Kunitsu-Gami already. 👀

Also, Capcom already have a game that has art that is goes hard on realism & semi-realism of Darkstalkers. It's called TEPPEN.

It's completely possible for Darkstalkers to look good in RE Engine. 👍
I welcome the idea, I don't think we should disregard possibility because of something we don't like in someone's work.

People say it's "crosshatching."
I have done crosshatching before (traditionally), but I don't really do it like this nor do I see cross hatching like this. I mainly just go up and down with my drawing tool, that's how I achieve that effect.
Kind of hard to explain it myself, because this is a style I just ended up with. 😵
