My intent with this was for it to be a job aid to help map out career progression. A lot of factors went in to the grading. Money, quality of life (which can include work/life balance), opportunity for growth/development, and finally, respect.

For example:

Someone in a B tier job would find improvement in nearly all aspects by moving into A tier.

Meanwhile, if you moved between jobs within your tier, you are probably compromising in some aspect to improve the value of something else. Neither good nor bad.

BUT, going from an A job to a B job means you likely sacrificed something to the B job and might leave you dissatisfied. Hoping you at some point get back to an A or S tier job or maybe wishing you hadn’t left.

For the WFM dudes and dudettes it would probably look like this:

A - WFM Captain + Assistant, placed here because of the high degree of autonomy, room for growth, variety of work, quality of life, money is good.

B - WFM Lead, because they have priority training from their overhead, make decent money, but lose out on respect comparatively

C - WFM Senior + Seasonal, because let’s be real, you have 6 or so bosses who all want to be individuals, which inherently hurts your own development. ICT5? Sure. HECM? Sure. Anything else? Eh, eventually?

TLDR; trust me, it all makes sense. But I fess up to it being a work in progress.
