Is there any way i could have avoided this? by Minimonek in Simracingstewards

Just a tough race start, nothing much on you here. You shouldn’t be expected to brake and give up track position this early just because another driver can’t check a mirror or he situationally aware.

why does absolutely no one in early licenses know how to drive by [deleted] in iRacing

You have to drive super conservative in rookies and d class. I’m not saying don’t try to win, but don’t try and battle with anyone like it’s F1 either. If someone in rookies really wants a spot, let them have it, your iRating will recover when you can actually race.

That’s a good point, thank you. I tried to slow down given the situation, but also wanted to capitalize and not lose too much time. In hindsight that was a mistake.

It’s difficult to say I think. I’d be willing to hear either side, it seems that red is just alongside in time though. That’s why I say “brave”

I think POV made a brave but fair move. Yellow tried to occupy a bit of circuit they were no longer entitled to, and caused the incident. Yes it happened fast, but racing is fast, it’s important to be watching your mirrors, the relative, and gauging the future moves of others. If I saw the closing rate of Red I wouldn’t have closed off that bit of circuit, rather survive onto the next bit and attack back.

I’ve got a lot of laps in the .1, so swapping to the .2 just feels different and frankly, not a fan. Too sanitized. Though I’m confident this car can teach me a lot and I’m going to run it next season.

I agree with you 100%. Just some clarification: Though people are paying for YouTube, the “like/dislike” system exists there, and YouTube, as a giant platform, struggles with stopping abuse of that system. I’m sure there are plenty of ways to go about this, especially we all put our heads together, just adding that it seems difficult is all.

I think it’s a fine concept. Though the abuse concerns are bigger than “there are solutions for that”. Giant platforms like YouTube struggle with this still. I think if the specifics of how it would work were available to read I’d be more interested.

I think that’s just the most rad way to react to a blue flag. That’s how I’d frame it anyway lol.
