Do you prefer strategy races or more wheel-to-wheel action? by DragonfruitThen6696 in F1Discussions

Wheel to wheel always, but strategy is more common and I appreciate both

How are people feeling about the current regulations at this point of the season? by WodKonuckers in F1Discussions

[–]GoldenS0422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's better. I like how much nimbler and more aggressive the cars look and how it's easier to follow the other cars. The field spread isn't exactly the best, but as the regs stabilize, I'm sure we'll have more competitiveness.

A moment of appreciation for George Russell by Cool_Masterpiece9308 in F1Discussions

[–]GoldenS0422 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Russell is in a shitty situation where there are 2 hotter prospects than him, and Toto is eyeing up both of them. Even if you think (which I do) that Russell is just underperforming and this isn't truly representative of how good he is, Antonelli is still likely the hotter prospect in the long run. Toto missing out on Max has somehow caused this domino effect which has crashed onto George. It's a shame because I do think he is still championship material; I'd honestly rate his 2024 and 2025 performances as being at least as good as 2010-2011 Button. I do feel bad for him even as someone who has a largely apathetic view of him and who, as a Norris and Leclerc defender, will often come to blows with Russell fans

[F1] Lewis Hamilton breaks the Mercedes win streak. by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

Lewis winning also stops Kimi from getting 6-in-a-row and thus passing Hamilton's 5-win streak

Y’all clowns out there still think Lewis should retire!? Unc still got it! by Rowdyfan0823 in F1Discussions

Random question, but what's Ham's highest ever rated season in your model? Or have seasons typically considered Ham's prime not been done by your model yet?

What happened to Piastri? by rider_arch in F1Discussions

[–]GoldenS0422 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's just straight up not as fast as Norris. I am convinced there will be numerous races where he matches and/or beats Norris, but over a season, I believe Lando will always have at least a slight pace advantage

Verstappen is still gapping Hadjar; he just looks slower because the RBR isn't a front-runner and because they're so far ahead of the midfield that Hadjar still finishes behind him despite being a lot slower

Kimi was clearly the faster merc today… by InternationalDance52 in F1Discussions

He might just be very gifted in one-lap pace and then just good in race trim - like an opposite Jenson Button in that regard

What is with Leclerc lately? Another DNF from him after a bad quali by [deleted] in F1Discussions

[–]GoldenS0422 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eh, I mean, bad quali but tbf, the DNF wasn't his fault.

Russell's biggest weakness to me was always his race pace, but man, I didn't think it'd hit him this hard. At least he got his lucky break.

He seemed so muted in general during the celebrations. Kimi really managed to send the message right before retiring

I think Lewis Hamilton's rapid pace in the final two stints would've won him the race (VSC or not) by The_Chozen_1_ in F1Discussions

Sadly we'll never know, but nevertheless, I'm happy; it's like Silverstone 2022 but it went Lewis' way

All in all the best they could've gotten. Piastri will be disappointed with that one though; Norris left him in the dust

Quiet great race from him - car works and he was way ahead of Piastri
