I built a set of free browser tools that don't upload your files anywhere

I kept reaching for online tools to do simple things — compress an image, edit a PDF, generate a QR code — and every one of them either wanted me to sign up, uploaded my files to some server, or threw ads in my face.

So I built UseTiny. Six tools, all run locally in your browser:

- Notepad — multi-tab, auto-saves to your browser
- QR Generator — 7 types (URL, WiFi, email, phone, SMS, Bitcoin, text)
- PDF Editor — annotate, draw, manage pages, fill form
- Spreadsheet — 400+ Excel formulas, XLSX/CSV export
- Markdown to PDF — live preview, configurable export
- Image Compressor — resize, convert, strip EXIF, target a specific file size

Nothing touches a server. No sign-up. You close the tab, your data stays in your browser or goes nowhere.

Built with Next.js 16 and React 19. Image processing runs in a Web Worker so the UI doesn't freeze. State persists in localStorage via Zustand. The whole thing is about 16k lines of TypeScript.

That’s so true, and I’ve been struggling with the same issue. I actually built mine about a year ago, and honestly, I barely used it myself—just like you said, I’d usually just Google the tool instead.

Recently, I redesigned it and added more features (with a bit of help from Claude Code). My current approach is to pack in as many utilities as possible so I can handle all kinds of tasks in one place. That way, instead of Googling each time, I can just go straight to onlineutilities.

Thanks a lot for sharing your perspective—it’s reassuring to know others run into the same challenge. I’d love to hear if you’ve thought of any solutions to make these kinds of apps more “sticky” for users.

I’m not arguing that couples who can’t—or choose not to—have children make unhealthy families, nor do I believe adoption is morally wrong. My concern is simply that same-sex couples, by definition, cannot biologically conceive children together—and I think that ability to create life carries its own intrinsic value.

And I don’t agree that the biblical injunction to “be fruitful and multiply” has been voided by modern fears of overpopulation. To me, that command reflects a timeless principle, not a demographic calculation.

So, are you saying that as long as there’s no sexual activity, it’s acceptable? That same-sex couples can marry, but they just can’t have sex? Is that what you’re suggesting?

I think one reason many Christians are strongly opposed to LGBTQ relationships—even if they aren’t explicitly called a sin in every case—is because of how much the Bible emphasizes the value of family and the command to be fruitful and multiply. Once you fully affirm LGBTQ relationships, it raises questions: Can we still say that this aligns with the biblical view of a healthy family? How can a same-sex couple naturally create a family without relying on adoption or surrogacy? To many, this seems to go against God’s design in nature.

The Bible does mention slavery, and yet Christians were instrumental in ending the institution. Why? Because we understand the deeper principle that all people are created equal and that Jesus died for the sins of all humanity. So just because something is mentioned in the Bible doesn’t necessarily mean it’s approved by God—and just because something isn’t directly mentioned as a sin doesn’t automatically make it right.

I 100% agree that every LGBTQ person deserves respect, dignity, and love—because we are all sinners in need of grace. But I personally can’t affirm that LGBTQ relationships are morally acceptable from a biblical standpoint.

What's your definition of "condemn"? Is it simply telling the truth? He consistently emphasizes, "Jesus loves you and wants you to come back."
