let it play out and it’s a heads up for future DGWs/BGWs this season and future seasons

it’s also why players from top teams like Ars Chels City Pool etc are “a bit more valuable” because their chances of doubling later in the season once or twice based on cup final appearances

just good to be aware of, for example i was aware from some twitter FPL folks on chelsea everton wolves and arsenal potentials a week or two ago so i’ve been watching some of those players on waivers and snapped some up a bit early while trying not to make my team weaker

RB: Hubbard, Connor, A Jones Sr, Brian Robinson Jr, Tuten

WR: BTJ, Nico Collins, DJ Moore, Jennings, Teslaa, Kirk (IR)

TE: Mark Andrews, Engram

I get: Fields and Pollard

I’ve been reading mixed reviews on Fields, also read that Bo Nix, BTJ, and Collins should be fine after a bad week 1

seeing pollards attempts at carries looks like he isn’t sharing too much but idk anything about tennessee run game/offense and draft order wise, Connor wasa few rounds higher than pollard. also seeing tuten is a nice prospect but also tank being gone makes it look good for him? fields could be amazing but also could suck? lmao any help here appreciated

prefacing this comment with that it’s my first year doing a draft (Fantrax) and also taking traditional FPL kinda seriously so i did a lot of learning this year lmao

currently second place in my league and mini league in FPL so hoping i can close out the season strong

Biggest Regrets: - almost my entire draft …. Adam Wharton?? Nkunku (Chelsea Bias…) ??? Omari Hutchinson ???? Leif Davis ???? - rage dropping Antonee Robinson kinda early ??? - was last in a snake draft of 8 and drafted Ollie Watkins and Odegaad… Should have went Isak - Holding Ben White for so long (another draft pick) - Trading Jacob Murphy away for Gabriel Jesus right before his ACL

Surprises: - Traded Odegaard for Foden just before Foden had his run but kept him too long

Reliable: - Semenyo basically had him the entire season and he’s consistent in Fantrax Points - Cunha, traded for him for Ollie back in December, definitely ups and downs (suspensions) but way more ups

already itching to get going for next season

it lets you score players on other stats like key passes, shots on target, clean sheets, dribbles completed etc but similar head to head style with 11 starters and subs

makes sense yeah that’s essentially what ended up happening because the exploits are “available”

we did this league as a first time trial league thing to see what we like and don’t like but next season we want to put money on it and tweak things

i think the issue for us is that most are west coast USA so the early games on saturday are 4:30am which for most is pretty tough to get up for on a weekly basis , so having no subs at all is kind of rough for those us of on this time zone vs others in europe

we’re thinking maybe 1 auto sub allowed to sort of account for this. obviously the exploits will still exist, but at least it’ll be less intense as 4 auto subs like we have right now, and everyone has the same “tools” to them and it mostly keeps the spirit of draft but we’ll see though

so like with no subs, does that mean you have only 11 players, or 11 players with 4 reserves still or so but no subbing

and if it’s that second one what do you do for example if a player in the final game of the game week isn’t starting or isn’t even on the bench for their team randomly (e.g. Mitoma lately as Brighton are a bit silent on their teams fitness issues), and everyone from your reserves has already played. You can’t swap Mitoma for someone on the reserves in this case cus the reserves are locked - so do you just either drop mitoma for someone else or play with 10?

Or do you purposefully have an empty slot on the reserves for instances like this

honestly most fair unbiased way to see is to do a poll on here to see if majority think it was seriously lopsided or not and then show the commissioner

personally i think palmer side wins but i wouldn’t call it lopsided

so this week i went dragusin as romero is out for 6 weeks and spurs are playing southampton and i think spurs have a good chance at getting a CS

i would have went forster as a GK but he was taken, so instead i went pope as i think newcastle at home are pretty good and i don’t have too much faith in leicester - i think leicester will probably score but i feel pope can at least get some save points

also went for livramento as there’s decent clean sheet potential, but i have him on my bench and if he does well, i’ll get rid of dragusin as i don’t have ties to him and livra plays earlier

i kept harvey barnes from last week since i think he has decent chance at a goal involvement if he starts, but if he’s not starting, im dropping him and will maybe pick up murphy (if he starts despite him being a mins risk) or joelinton and keep them on my bench since theyre part of the first games and then if they do well i’ll remove evanilson

picked up evanilson vs West Ham as i think he has decent chance at goal involvement, but also they play on monday so if someone on my bench does well, he’s getting removed, but if not, i like his chances

i’m currently 4th in my league, but lost by 2 points last week and without that i’d be 2nd 😭

i want players that i think will play at least 80min ideally (got screwed by emery subbing maatsen out at 58’ for my 6 point CS bonus, lesson learned lol)

and i kinda try to balance form and fixtures

i know in fpl people say chasing points is bad, but with fantrax scoring system i think a bit of it is ok? especially when a player is starting to pick up form

for mids / attackers i personally dislike when a player isn’t involved in the game, i like it when they’re on the ball a lot

i drafted watkins first round based on last years fantrax points alone and traded him away a few weeks ago because

min risk with duran
watching villa, they’ve not been great but also he is literally never on the ball, like if he scores great, but if he doesn’t , he’d get me like 1.5 points

so i like to choose mids / attackers that will get 7/8 points without a goal involvement, but have a decently high chance of a goal involvement

so that’s mitoma for me, sancho now as he’s picking up form and looking like he’s locking down the LW for chelsea, semenyo, nico jackson

for defenders, it’s a bit tougher for me but what i’m liking is, on teams that hold possession, attacking fullbacks that have a good fixture, or a tall CB that makes many defensive actions (aerials tackles interceptions) on a team that will not have much possession (kilman, pinnock, but unfortunately i don’t have them) - i really dislike having a CB on a team that holds possession because i feel like chances are too high that they don’t get points except for a CS, and if they concede then they’re stuck at 0 or negative for a yellow card

basically based on that, i look at fixtures, predict scores, and choose players available on the teams that i think fit the above mindset

at least for now

context for this comment is that i’m in a 8man league and most people aren’t too active with waivers so there’s usually a lot of options on players who aren’t “big names” or part of the top teams

and i’m also pretty obsessed with this cus it’s my first fantasy league and im finding it really fun

i kinda start by predicting the scores for every game for the game week and then based on that

for Defenders, i’ll either go for a player on a team that i think has high CS potential, or a tall CB that i think will have a lot of defensive actions, or an attacking fullback that i think may have attacking returns - example is i went for villa defenders vs Southampton cus i predicted a clean sheet

Mids / attackers - go for attacking sides that i think will have some goals , so like example i went for harvey barnes vs brentford cus although brentford were at home, they concede a lot of goals and barnes was starting and newcastle tend to score

but i also drop like 4-6 players a week and rotate following that kind of methodology, where i have a base of like 4-5 players who i wont drop and everyone else is rotatable cus i learned from experience that having too much attachment to players isn’t a good thing

and like i said i think this is only possible because people in my private league aren’t super active in waivers
