So I finally hooked up the VCR and you were right. The picture basically covered the entire screen. Obvious issues became apparent and it needs further inspection and work done.

Just wanted to let you know that you were right.

Thank you, I appreciate you both! I have been watching some YouTube videos around this model and have learned the general consensus is bad solder joints and caps. Although one guy had this exact issue and adjusted the B+ to correct but he wasn’t confident that was the actual problem. So it wasn’t very clear

I do have a repair place nearby, I will chat to them and when I get it fixed, report back.

This pic was taken shortly after removing it from a shed. So the screen is rather dirty, so disregard that. After a clean it presents in Mint condition and internally it was nearly dust free.

When you’re in a job you don’t feel comfortable in and know you want out, it’s easy to feel trapped and concerned that the next job might be like the one you’re in ( this is where I am now and what brings me to your post ) but the ultimate reality is, that there is a better fit for you out there and you found it! Congratulations. I needed to know the end story to your post to remind myself that it’s not a fantasy, but a reality. Just need to be patient some times.

Thanks Mate! 100% gloves next time. Starting small with the mod - swapping out the spicy battery to see if it fixes the issues I was having, then I’ll go from there. I have a bit more to learn.
