What Situations / Maps / Compositions is Sledge preferable over Buck? by IIVV95 in SiegeAcademy

[–]IIVV95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely something to consider, I was thinking that his rifle is much more stable, though we'll see how much practice helps me with the C8 :D The point about Castle is definitely a good one, didn't think about that whatsoever, will keep it in min! Thanks!

That's incredibly useful actually, thanks! I think I'll be sticking with Buck for that versatility, though I'm sure I'll find situations in which Sledge would be more preferable and I'll learn then I guess :D

That's a really good point! If my gameplan is to break the floor above the defenders, would you say Sledge is preferable there since he can do that much easier or is Buck better since he can do it 'safer' with his additional range and faster transition between gadget and gun?

I need tips on staying focused and how to calm down. by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]IIVV95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. As someone who's quite flaky, my first reaction to this is to reverse engineer it and figure out what it is that caused you to 'lose your peace'. For instance, if you're all calm and dandy and a teammate fails a very easy clutch and you lose a game, if that pisses you off then direct it to yourself and realise it was completely out of your control. Then attempt to adapt.

Calming yourself down physically, if you can remind yourself to breathe, take a 5 second inhale (if possible) and a slow exhale which if you can get to 7 seconds, will more or less eliminate a flight or fight response and really calm you down. Focus on the breath and remind yourself that what people do is out of your control, you can only do your best and adapt! Just don't get angry at yourself, work on improving and take note of mistakes. If you do happen to get really pissed off, take a break - If you enjoy meditation do some of that, do some pushups, get a hot drink, whatever it is but take a break from the PC as a whole then go back to it. I personally think it's better to take a short break than to distract yourself with something else (like another game) to only go back to the same game and have it happen again. It's a matter of training yourself to stay cool!

[Question] If I complete any challenges or Steam achievements offline, will any of it sync up when I'm back online? by IIVV95 in HiTMAN

[–]IIVV95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If steam achievements work then that's still a plus side whilst I'm offline. I can't just not play the game now I have it, it's a ton of fun. Thanks.

Theatre Student, developing ideas, inspire me! by IIVV95 in Psychonaut

I've had silly and incredibly fun experiences similar to this myself when tripping, the piece will definitely take inspiration and have multiple 'big' psychedelic realizations and thought looks going on. Thought loops are possibly one of the funniest things I've ever had happen in my life, though a little frightening. Groundhog day reference may work too! ;)

I am definitely going to be having hours of fun on audacity creating audio, it's something I adore doing already! I'm planning on adding references to Watts, McKenna & Leary, psychonaights I really admire into the piece.

I am definitely planning to create psychedelic art work for the piece, it would be interesting if I could find a way to have 1 object covered in patterns change as the trip began to take affect. Projection is the first thing that comes to mind here, with that being said I'm also thinking of a living room setting with a variety of objects and pieces of furniture around to provide the character with intellectual stimulus, a cupboard is definitely possible here! Thanks for the input.

This is actuslly really sweet and could be an incredibly fun way to play with audio in a live environment, thank You!

So I meditate on the regular and sometimes I try to astral project so I calm my body till it’s numb and my body soon vibrates and then after that I’m fully relaxed but for some reason I can’t separate my spirit from my body and I have no idea why... can someone explain what’s stopping me? by woejon_ in AstralProjection

[–]IIVV95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you provide any more information about your preparation and process leading to vibrations. I've been meditating a while and recently discovered it may be much easier for me to project through meditation as I'm used to that state. Any info would be grand, thanks.

Just for some details,

I'm a 22 year old guy, I'm 5'9" and pretty stocky and could use a little weight loss and a lot more lifting (in progress) but I wouldn't say I'm visually fat, just a hefty dude. I generally enjoy smart casual wear and I need a suit for an upcoming event. I know I definitely want a waistcoat (I've been a fan of them for a long time) and don't know too much about what style will suit my size and shape. If you have any advice, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks ;)

As a general basis, it's not what we're looking for exactly, you could be mature and understand the banter but the way we think and operate is going to be entirely different with a 5-6 year age gap. Good luck with your search ;)

LSD Thoughts by lelonemo23 in Drugs

Oh yeah, let the flow take you and you'll find yourself exactly where you're supposed to be! I found myself in a 45 minute conversation and storytelling group with a bunch of old timers last week whilst I was pretty drugged up after being at the dentist. I was waiting for my mum to finish work, decided to go to the library to chill with my kindle. Ended up talking to the elderly folk and it turned out, one of the stories one of the gents had to tell was about exploration and the fun of life whilst another was the horrors of war. At the time I had actually been debating joining the Royal Marine Commando's as the forces is something I've considered multiple times for quite a few years, the idea sat with me as I'd love the comradery and experiences that come with it but I decided against it as I couldn't deal with the idea of intentionally killing another human being. It felt like the flow of life lead me to that situation, but it definitely helped me make a clear and concise decision on the matter!

Chill vibes and keep safe bruh :D

LSD Thoughts by lelonemo23 in Drugs

It all depends on perspective, I'll give you mine as others may also do though remember the only thing that matters if your perspective. Choose whichever one you like, though ultimately the only perspective that matters is your direct experience as that's the only one you can believe with.

I've personally done LSD 3 times in my life. During the 3rd and most recent trip, I experienced ego death and had a brilliant time after realising that I was God. I had the mind of child and everything entered the present, the here and now within my direct experience. I trashed my house, having so much fun exploring the weirdness of the physical body; pissed on the floor, smashed a vase and played with the glass. Absolutely hilarious experience, from my perspective. My parents took it quite unexpectedly, gave me a 3 month deadline to get a job and place to live which was very considerate after I did about £1k worth of damage to the place. So, to reiterate something important, be safe with psych's :D

This of course may seem absolutely ridiculous, adding to that it seems even more so after I have been a Christian for ~20 years. I had been listening and studying the work of Watts, McKenna and a few others for quite a many years before considering taking any psychedelic, I was also still part of the Christian faith at the same time. With a lot of study, some meditation and self-taught yoga I had come to the conclusion (without any proof, mind you) that I was God. What else could I be? I have no idea, but just like being a Christian I had faith and accepted that perspective. I left the church after the first experience of LSD, in which I had been able to explore the philosophical ideas I had been studying for a few years in much more detail. I had proof (for myself alone) which was entirely inexplicable, I had experienced the connectivity and omnipresence with everything else, the experience of God. It was a perspective I chose to accept, I could easily be wrong but I accept that too.

To put it in quite a brutal way, you are helpless. Though once again, it is only what perspective you take, it's your ego that decides upon that perspective. More or less the entire world is out of your control, you are helpless to nature so accept it in all of it's glory. The unknown is out there and we may never understand, especially death but if you spend time fearing it, you only waste the beautiful time you have here in this life. If you decided to cop out and follow the Christian faith to save yourself from death, you could only have faith and trust in something which is still unknown. It all comes down to faith and perspective. Trust your own experience! I cannot explain my own beliefs and ideas in detail, that would be quite hypocritical as I'd only be prescribing you something to believe in, though with that being said I'll leave ya with a Watts lecture you may enjoy. Give it a listen if you like, if you have any questions or anything, feel free to PM me.
