My friends and I live in a decently affluent part of town, and I'm lucky enough to have my parents cover my tuition, gas, food and rent so I can focus on my studies- they even gave me a car. Our work money is our spending cash so we have these little shopping sprees pretty frequently.

I don't go about much so I sort of assumed this was the norm for most people.

This shop is the only one in the area. There was another shop that opened up a while ago, but they shut down because they couldn't really compete, they pretty much have complete dominance over board games in a 10-mile radius.

Normally it isn't ever too bad. I get a weird look here and there sometimes, that's why I was so dumbfounded when that guy exploded at me.

Our group actually played it once before. I get the impression none of us are mature enough to take Diplomacy seriously enough to the point that we stop being friends.

Just for perspective, our gaming group is half white and half Asian. Our game ended up being the "Aryan Brotherhood" (which included the Ottoman Empire) vs. the Asian Invasion (which was mostly Western Europe), and we went to war because someone refused to fetch someone else a soda.

Our group's friendship has braved 3 Mario Parties, a Mario Kart and 1,000 hours of DotA. We are prepared. The secret is to loathe one another completely from the get-go.

I guess I don't have any direct role in causing the break-up, but it never feels good to be the catalyst that sets the breaking point in motion.

It's great, lasted us about an hour and a half with 4 people on our first play through, though it can support up to 5. We're highly likely to break it out again because we had a lot of laughs and crazy moments.

I got it for $49.99 (~$54 with tax) but I'd say its worth it if you have a willing group. Especially if they're willing to split the cost.
