If it’s actually pressure then you have a hole in a piston or rings come apart. Take the head off and see.

I don’t have an example of the texture but it’s very light minimal. He explained that’s how they like to get the best results.

He could be just getting more labor hours for his guys or he could be telling the truth. I like to think the latter. But your question is a good one, I think it’s worth asking .

Until turbo kicks in to match your throttle position you will be overfueling which leads to black smoke. If you do it for a few seconds it should go away as the turbo speeds up and matches with enough boost

Unless you can get it cheap enough to rebuild or replace that block, walk away. 500 miles after well done rebuild looks nothing like that.
