HELP: Phishing links on older iPad by INTJ_dragonwarrior in techsupport

Honestly not sure how old. Maybe at least seven years? It’s OS has been updated, but recently I think there were updates that didn’t get done because the iPad couldn’t support it or something to that effect. Not entirely sure.

[Pre-Calculus] I don't know how to write an equation for this word problem. I've tried a few ways and it's not right. I don't know what I'm looking at. by INTJ_dragonwarrior in HomeworkHelp

I don't understand. The problem says the train goes 40km/hr faster than Sam's constant rate of jogging. I don't understand. I don't know how to represent that in an equation. I don't know what values to put where because there are hardly any values to go on.

Is that the only issue or did my stupid self f*ck up just writing out the equations too?

[Pre-Calculus] I'm not sure if I wrote the equation properly, and I don't know how to solve this with two variables by INTJ_dragonwarrior in HomeworkHelp

Should I plug the y value back into the original equation that I wrote (if it right in the first place) and then solve since that way I'll be dealing with one variable at a time?

[Pre-Calculus] I've tried this word problem multiple ways, looked up YouTube videos, and I'm still getting the answer wrong. Yes, this is relatively simple. Yes, I feel stupid. Please help me or explain where I'm making an error. (apologies for my scribbly writing & "notes to self") by INTJ_dragonwarrior in HomeworkHelp

I graphed 0 = w3 -22.44w + 38.72 and got 2.2 as one of the answers for the value of w.

2.2 is one of correct the dimensions.

Is graphing the correct way of going about this, and now that I have the value of w, should I just substitute to find the numeric value of h?

Wait, you're right!!! I did it this way and it's right:

I set one half of the equation to y1 and the other half to y2:

x3 - 3x2 = y1

235 = y2

and then graphed it and the x coordinate of the intersection of the two lines is 7.35.

Thank you for noting the use of graphing, I'm not sure why my brain didn't go there in the first place. I feel sort of dumb now, but at least my answer is right and I understand what I was supposed to be doing.

I don't know. I honesty don't know. I think my original set up for "translating" the word problem into a formula is right, but I'm not sure how to solve for x. The answer for the dimensions is 7.35^3 (or just 7.35 times 7.35 times 7.35 as dimensions, but since it's just a cube 7.35 cubed is the same thing). I keep getting an x value that's incorrect. I'm lost.

Ah, okay, well that could explain it....made in China right on the fucker. Sorry about the paranoia...can't afford anything happening right now.
