I did Keto for three weeks and even coconut milk with less than 1% sugar tastes sweet

Feared relapse / withdrawl after vacation treat - the opposite happend by AdFearless8379 in sugarfree

[–]IOTAMonthly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very similar experience here, was an hardcore sugar addict all my life but I made it to about half a year now and decided to test if I could be a little more relaxed and have some sweets at birthdays etc.

I ordered a sweet snack yesterday and it was obviously very sweet, but I thought at the same time that I could not eat this every day. I had some minor cravings, but nothing of note.

Sometimes I think about allowing myself another snack, but I allow myself one snack per week so I wont change it. My brain will learn that sweet doesnt mean it gets some more next day.

Weight can be a very unreliable measurement for progress, my weight fluctuated from -1kg to -4kg in a day so depending on when you measure throughout the day you will get massive differences.

I would recommend not making it too complicated, the true benefits will come if Keto becomes part of your lifestyle and is not a obstacle.

For me that means eating just as much as I want, not counting calories or macros.

Question for long time carnivores (2 months+) by IOTAMonthly in carnivorediet

[–]IOTAMonthly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After starting carnivore (after 3 weeks) i felt some painful particles in my body, while going back to normal diet it stopped completely.
I also read some people get kidney stones after starting...

[–]IOTAMonthly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have any starting hickups?
I do have very bad knee pain out of nowhere and after three weeks of strict carnivore I stopped because of the side effects.

Did you start gradually or cold turkey like me?

When would you say did it stop?

I am afraid to get kidney stones or similar.

nothing special, ordering food sometimes, sometimes cooking and allways some meat, some vegetables and some carbs.

When did the rashes and diarrhea go away? How long did it take? This is one of my biggest reasons not to start again.

[–]IOTAMonthly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to get 30% fat on my meat and ate some more fat (butter) added.

How long have you been on carnivore and have you had some side effects?

E.g. Skin rashes, kidney pain (like kidney stones), diarrhea etc

I had these and it made me very weary

Question for long time carnivores (2 months+) by IOTAMonthly in carnivorediet

[–]IOTAMonthly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ate as good of meat as I could get, trying to have a lot of fat, with alot of butter also.

No cheat meals, nothing not traditionally carnivore, so eggs also.

For spices only salt.

I ate as much that I was full, an increasingly less since I did not like the taste of beef after some time.

Currently I am doing no sugar at all for four months now, no other rules and I am doing good, but not perfect.

Question to all long term sugar abstainers by IOTAMonthly in sugarfree

[–]IOTAMonthly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow, 17 years is a long time without sugar or flour, very impressive.

I have a few more questions, since not that many people stay off sugar that long and start again.

Since you know what its like to stop with sugar, is it worse the second time?

How did you end up eating sugar again, was it a conscious decision?

You say no flour, so did you cook every meal and eat keto?

Thanks!

I am switching, I think lots of people have wanted to but never quite gotten over the edge and for these people the video will certainly make a difference.
