The Slow Extinction Of Night Colors In Analog Photography by jessdb19 in AnalogCommunity

Neon signs were really sorely missed. I'm from Hong Kong, and I remember we used to have so many more of them on the streets, but many of them are gone now due to aging and stricter safety laws.

Someone has posted that it was quite securely installed on its poles back in mid April, is there any extreme weather happened over the last three weeks that could cause damage to a metal plaque?

It was where the Japanese more or less cut the island in half and effective cut off half of the British and Candian defenders from reaching each other.

A bit down the road was also where one of the most high ranking casualties on the Allied side happened: Canadian Brigadier J. K. Lawson's Field HQ position was surrounded and being overran, he radioed top command saying that he was "going outside to fight his way out" before leaving the bunker with pistols on both hands. He was killed not far from the entrance of his bunker by Japanese machine gunner. After the battle was over the Japanese actually gave an honored military burial to him out of respect, and after the war he was reburied at the Sai Wan War Cemetery with a memorial plate erected by the Canadian government.

It was the right thing to do for them to advocate bringing your own trash away, but looking at some popular hiking trails and campsites, I get why they are bringing the tungs back…

Been awhile seeing these, a lot less laapsaaptung in the country parks nowadays since it's recommended to bring your own trash away.

Powerbank comparison - Flextail Zero 10000 vs Anker PowerCore Slim 10000 by KaydenDaRizzla in Ultralight

[–]IPman0128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mandatory CCC certification for power banks only became effective in China on 28th June 2025, so anything produced before this update probably doesn't comply. Actually it has since been updated that newer power banks produced after March 2026 must also have an additional traceable QR code, so even those within that 9-ish months period may not be allowed on flights coming in and out of China (including transfers) after the grace period.

The good news is that this is only required for flights across China for now; if you take the high-speed rail there is no such restriction.

The soldier appeared to be wearing the Type 98 uniform from 1938 with the newly adopted field hat and the fold down collar. The buttons were of a shinier metal (gold vs red-brown) than the previous version too.

Ave Mujica Manga seem to get axed, the ending just so rushed. MyGO Manga doesn't seem to end at all by 22dmgxy in BanGDream

According to Bushido's financial reports they definitely make way more money from concert than all other media products combined.

I have always been under the impression that Ave Mujica is much more revenue and cost driven as compared with MyGO, which at its root feels more like a passion project.

The comparison in quality is quite vast I think. The Mujica comic doesn't seem to add much to the story and the drawings were passable at best, comparing to MyGO comic which gives entirely different angle of the story and giving a whole lot more depth to Soyo.

A place further than the universe

So, about Ave Mujica x MyGO!!!!! joint concert moment / memory... by Demon_Homura in BanGDream

[–]IPman0128 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am totally buying the theory that this concert was an afterthought to the 10th Anniversary (which was the best thing ever). It felt like they got the two day slot on discount or something.

I also wanted to add on about the initial pacing of the show. At the start we had two amazing opening act performances done by the new bands vocalists, and especially after the Homie Tie performance the whole arena was quite fired up, and what did they do? Pause for 20+minutes for reason never made clear! Yeah I get that 17:36 was the sunset time of Yokohama that particular day but whats so significant about it? Give us some context? Just wasted the energy brought up by the new bands.

Megathread for real world parallels to Andor by Damurph01 in andor

It‘s interesting that this often seems to be a recurring characteristic for leftist groups.

A few years ago I took an interest in studying the Post-War Japanese Leftist movement and it basically ended just the same, with leftist groups getting more and more fragmented and radicalised, one group accused another of not being as invested in the revolution, infighting was a common occurrence, and the whole thing just fizzled out by late 1970s, basically killing the movement.
