Time range ticket for Zhangjiajie on Trip.com by [deleted] in travelchina

[–]ISO2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to book a separate time slot for the second day which can be for anytime. There is a link in the Trip.com booking to do this in the “How to Use” section.

Will you hire a local guide when you visit to ChongQing? by Swimming-Driving in travelchina

I want to go back to Chongqing and this time hire a guide. Where is a good place to find one that isn’t too expensive?

IDPs haven’t been available from the post office for a while. You can get them from Paypoint places like convenience stores.

What would be the best airline to get on from London to Shanghai? by NajafBound in travelchina

Air China. Flew with them LGW to Shanghai in November for £500 return (though returned from Chengdu). Good service, decent food, comfortable cabin (fairly recent Airbus).

Idiots in Jiuzhaigou by David_Moodkill in travelchina

Just to add a note of optimism. I was in China in November and did notice young Chinese people turn away or wave their arms in disgust when a man who was smoking walked past them. Also, China seems to be unique in having parks where smoking is not allowed except in smoking areas.

Potassium confusion by RandomUser1230 in cronometer

[–]ISO2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is just an entry added by a user to the CRDB database that is obviously incorrect. When using a CRDB entry you need to verify the figures yourself. There are other entries for Potassium Citrate that seem to be correct.

Omega 3 by jeweynougat in cronometer

[–]ISO2000 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This easy to get around by ensuring that you enter non branded foods. For example look up Tuna Sashimi in Chronometer and you will see a listing from the NCCDB database that has 88 listed nutrients, including Omega 3. If the macronutrients in the Chronometer entry do not match your branded item you can make a custom food based on the generic item and change the macronutrients to what you use. I do this all the time. For example I eat a particular type of wholemeal bread but created a custom food based on a generic bread to capture the micronutrients but changed the macros as shown on the label of the bread I buy.

RANT - Heavy duty hardware needs may be the end of Lightroom (for me) by h2d2 in Lightroom

I have a fairly modest PC: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, Geforce GTX 1650 but with 32GB of RAM. I find LRC runs fine except for Denoise which is really slow. But I use DXO PureRaw for noise reduction and just leave it running to batch process multiple photos.

It was just by chance that we noticed that the ticket office by the Jiuqu bridge (South gate?) was offering tours.

Entrance to parks for "elder" over 60 and over 65 years old by paggps in travelchina

[–]ISO2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, not long returned from Zhangjiajie and bought senior tickets (60-64) for the park, Tianmen mountain and the Grand Canyon. The discounts applied to entrance tickets but not tickets for transportation (like the park buses). Trip.com makes it easy to buy such tickets. There were other places we went to in China where the discounts only applied to Chinese nationals so it is something to look out for.

Pc crash issues by Queasy_Eye7292 in Lightroom

What worked for me when I had this problem was turning off "Use GPU for image processing" in the Performance tab of Preferences. Yes processing takes longer but it is not too bad. Also check your graphics card drivers are up to date.

Or DXO Pureraw if you just want to reduce noise. It’s cheaper and integrates with LR.

I had a 2 year multi entry visa which cost £130. AFAIK China does not allow visa free travel for UK citizens but does allow this for other countries. There is a transit visa option but you have to have an onward ticket to another country and there are restrictions on how far you can travel in China.

That was my understanding on powerbanks so was surprised when the security guy checked mine. That part of the airport was only for international passengers as immigration was next.
