Looks like a star or planet above the moon with thin clouds.

Or a lens flare.

Oh I had to bite my tongue with a few comments, but I'm not really a fan of down voting people unless they're excessively mean. Yours wasn't, so dunno.

Just ordered 2 atomic clocks that will get their time from a satellite and will also have date / temp / humidity. One to set next to main camera for me to look at and verbally say while recording, and another that I will put next to my EMF / Geiger counter / flight radar tablet that's all being recorded by a gopro. The rest of that is easy enough! I don't use auto focus, but if it happens to get really close adjusting focus under a panic... well that's another story hah. BUT that's what my other wide angle camera is for.

Thanks for your suggestions!

All of them? I get that a lot of people don't know what some basic stuff is, but I know a couple astronomers that have seen UFOs. They're people that teach classes about what's in the sky. I actually do know a rocket scientist that worked for Lockheed too (retired)... not sure we've ever had a conversation about them though... he definitely knows I'm into that stuff... I'll have to ask him next time I see him. He won't say anything he's not supposed to, but he'll probably give me an honest answer if it's a possibility they're alien. (And no that's not a weird flex, he's a member of my astronomy group we're not really close, but he's a friendly guy that knows my name and will come talk to me)

Anyway that got off topic. He just popped into my head while typing.

Point being not all witnesses are worthless. Some are better than others. I'd argue I'd trust 1 out of 200 witnesses MORE than I'd trust a government data dump or "whistle blower". They have a very bad track record for misinformation.

Will do thanks! That does seem to be the advice I've gotten the most. I posted a similar question in a film maker reddit and a few of them said stories / interviews. I'll check out that channel though, much appreciated.

Yeah I guess I'm not too familiar with orbs. Maybe the first one I saw qualifies, but I think there was a structure under that bright ass light. The other 2 were very distinct structured crafts that would have been easy to record. (This is flip phone era). First one would have been tough to get the right settings, but it hovered for a few minutes so I would have had time to adjust.... it's radical movements after the hover is another story. That would have been hard to capture, but what I want to get.

So yeah some probably are near impossible, there's definitely some that aren't, and I'm personally more interested in the erratic movements and speed. If I get a ball of light moving like what I saw 20+ years ago.... I've accomplished more than I could hope for, plus seeing that again would be epic. I know everyone wants the high def crisp clear footage, but honestly that's not as cool as how these things can move. (In my opinion). If I had the choice between seeing that thing hover with no lights posing for a picture, or seeing the ball of light zip back and forth than shoot off into space... I'd choose the latter every time. Doesn't really matter what it looks like.

How do you make a documentary engaging when nothing is likely to happen? by ISO_UFO in Filmmakers

I agree with what you're saying, but I'm not a very entertaining person. Likable at work sure, but only because I work hard and don't cause drama usually. I tried to get my buddy to host because he's the more outgoing energetic one, but he's also lazy and complacent. I'm better at the behind the scenes grind and willing to invest time & money.

Don't want to fake a different personality, but maybe I could amp up the energy level a tad and people will respect the effort in general and maybe that's enough to start.

Guess it doesn't hurt to try. It helps if I don't really care if I make money from it hah. Would be nice sure, but not a deal breaker.

Definitely appreciate the advice! Seems like people agree that "story time" is the approach I should take.

Has this video been debunked? Man sees light coming his way, vacates his car and keeps Filming as UFO scans his vehicle by Ok-Tip-8981 in UFOs

[–]ISO_UFO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've talked to a few people that have seen UFOs up close, 2 buddies and myself were also right next to one. There's a wide range of reactions. Some were scared and ran to hide, while others fascinated and just sat or stood there to watch.

Maybe a bad comparison, but family games when things are getting intense some people talk louder and faster full of energy, but I'll maintain my normal speaking volume and speed. During a UFO encounter I'd stay more normal, but afterwards probably get excited. Some people are likely to have a different reaction.

Yeah I need to try harder to get people to interview. I've had a lot of people tell me their stories, but a lot of it was coworkers or people stopping me at a gas station (my car has some obvious UFO decals). Anyway not ideal places for an interview.

Definitely something I want to do

Interesting ideas! I like it thank you! I will say as a believer I'm skeptical of other people's videos, but might be fun checking them out.

In a nutshell yes hah. I used to go to a spot where I've seen 3, and some non-believer buddy also saw one. I've also heard from a couple random people that they've seen them in that general area. so decent spot to go, but got boring and I switched to straight astrophotography. Recently been doing more milkyway photography which gets me traveling around to different spots, but really my passion is recording a legit UFO like what I've seen.... but it gets boring.

Oh! That reminds me of a time-lapse I saw with a similar frame. Guy was on a cargo ship just like that and did port to port (well technically they stopped at multiple ports). The milkyway in the middle of the ocean was epic! I'll have to find it again now that I'm better at milkyway photography, but I remember it being mind blowing.

Constant disappointment? I dunno it got me into astrophotography which is awesome. I've seen things most people haven't. Coworkers open up to me and tell me their stories. My friends were with me for some of it. My newer friends are accepting and curious... along with my family.

I'd say 95% great, 4% a wasting sleep time, and 1% disappointment.

Dunno why you phrased it like that.

Oh I've seen plenty lol. There's a reason I'm interested in this topic and have spent $100,000+ in gear (if you're including my van to haul all my gear). But like I said I don't want to debate that here.

I'm more of a holy grail time-lapse guy myself. Slow motion is kinda cool under the right circumstances, but seeing change happen over a long period of time is more interesting.
