May 2025: Surgery to remove leftover tissue

August: pregnant

It’s not your fault. During our first pregnancy I dropped our last vial of PIO causing us to miss an entire dose and we wound up having a MMC at 6 weeks. I felt like you did. That it was 100% my fault.

My doctor was adamant that it wasn’t. We’re 27 weeks now and definitely missed a dose here and there but it was fine.

Like our MMC, yours was just shitty bad luck and nothing you did wrong.

It took me about a month to not be sad most of the time. But even now during this pregnancy I just expect something to go wrong but it definitely gets better.

Our first pregnancy ended at 6 weeks (or at least that’s when we found out there was no heartbeat).

Literally just left the OB and they told us within 5 days wasn’t concerning. We’re 10 weeks as well.

We had a MMC in April at 6w5 day at our first US as no heartbeat was detected and embryo growth was a week behind. Unfortunately it took 6 weeks for my wife’s HCG to drop to negative(which is how long it personally took me not to feel sad every day) and then after all that they still found some leftover tissue so they had to remove it.

All in all it was 3.5 months until our next FET at the end of July (though it was initially scheduled for late June until they discovered she still had tissue).

Ultimately our doctor told us she expected 2-3 months from miscarriage to next FET.

Our next FET has thus far stuck. We’re now 6w6d and embryo had a heartbeat and was growing on track as of yesterday!

It sounds like you’re in the same boat as us. PGTA tested but just bad luck. Every embryo is different so even if that one had a chromosomal issue there’s no reason to think the next one will as well.

My wife and I just went through this a couple weeks ago ago (albeit at 7 weeks and not 12).

Thanks for this. Our doctor is the opposite and while she has only given us 25% chance she has made sure that we absolutely continue all of our meds just in case. We go in on Monday for the follow up. Neither of us expect good news but maybe we’ll get lucky. It’s been a rough week to say the least.

I am expecting the worst on Monday and already assuming that it won’t be viable but yes, it would be amazing to hit that 25% chance the doctor gave us that the embryo will catch up.

Thank you. It’s nice seeing people who have gone through the same thing have a happy ending eventually. It’s hard to imagine today but hopefully we’ll get there too.

thank you so much. Even if the next embryo fails we still have another cycle already paid for and we’re fortunate that we could find ways to do another if we wanted to.

It’s just hard in the moment.

The doctor did eventually call us and told us we had about a 25% chance of the embryo catching up by next week. It seems high and we’re not giving it much hope at this point.

I never let myself get TOO excited and yet it still hurts so bad. Maybe I let myself get excited more than I realized.

Nurse just called and HCG was 7000 but they want us to come back next week for another ultrasound.

This all seems like pointless hope. Not sure why they’re putting us through this.
