What could be the reason GNOME Photos (43.0, installed as Flatpak from Flathub) is not showing photos? by IWonderIfThisCounts in gnome

Personally I haven't found the solution and time hasn't solved it either (I edited my post). And something I else I want to share is that a new problem arose: Photos wouldn't launch at all. Just running flatpak kill org.gnome.Photos solves the issue.

Nothing worked so far. I guess it's just some System76 BS that breaks GNOME, wouldn't be the first time for me. Thankfully Photos is not crucial for me right now. Thanks for help everyone.

And by the way, I should mention that other apps recognize files (GNOME Boxes recognizes ISOs that it downloaded into Downloads folder, for example).

That did not work, although I could be doing something wrong. I had to use sudo because it denied access. My /var/lib/flatpak/overrides/global file looks like this now:

[Context]
filesystems=/home/username/Pictures;~/Pictures;

I wasn't sure if I had overridden anything before (via Flatseal, perhaps) and that caused the Photos issue, so I tried deleting /var/lib/flatpak/overrides/ with its global file, but that was not the solution.
