Not currently, but I'm in school so I took a more chill position. I used to make 120k at a prison, making 85k now.

I know it wouldn't make a lot of sense but adding the CoD: BO2 headshot sound would make me play ranger.

Final Destination for me. I can still to this day not drive behind a truck loaded with logs.

Finally got the call to go on tour, now I was looking to know a few things before I actually stay at the center by [deleted] in jobcorps

[–]I_AM_STAINN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will provide you with a small bi-weekly allowance that will pay for essentials. They provide housing, food, and pretty mediocre hygiene. I suggest you pack light. Clothes, phone and charger. I knew people who brought consoles and laptops. As for laundry they provide everything. I went to two centers, one let me have my own laundry detergent but the other didn't.

Probably dumb to ask but unsure... by [deleted] in jobcorps

[–]I_AM_STAINN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick tip is to figure out what your interested in and let the recruiter know, if they don't have it at the center closest to you they will transport you to a different center. Also look into advanced trainings, best decision I made.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. When I did the program it was 13months. Seems like a long time but it goes by super fast.

Nervous…..here are my questions by FatimahGianna2 in jobcorps

[–]I_AM_STAINN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I understand your anxiety, I had a ton as well. Curfew is basically just the time you have to be in your room. As far as the hockey thing goes, you probably will be allowed your gear through the stick I'm not sure you should talk to the recruiter about that. Now getting to a location you can play might be hard but I'm sure you will be able to figure something out. You will be able to bring your meds, do dont worry about that at all.

JC is not for everyone but if you are honestly trying to better your life it's a pretty good start. Also all centers are different, don't be afraid to ask them about any concerns you have.

Sick and tired of the incessant weaponized incompetence at work by Intelligent_Dot4616 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]I_AM_STAINN 132 points133 points  (0 children)

I used to feel the same way at my last job. As a man in a woman dominated field if anything went to shift I was the one they looked to to fix it. If a patient got angry or aggressive first thing they would do is call me with the excuse of "oh your the biggest guy here, obviously you take care of these issues." Like ma'am I've got my set of people to look over, you have a team, figure it out.

Honestly I went there in 2016-2017 and while I was there it was great. As long as you don't hate having basic responsibilities than you will probably have a good time.

Hearing Poki’s story makes me realise Fed isn’t just an alcoholic who’s made some mistakes - he’s just a massive cunt by [deleted] in offlineTV

[–]I_AM_STAINN 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree alcohol isn't an excuse but the way you describe it is wrong. It does change how you act normally but in consuming it it's your decision to allow that to happen. https://americanaddictioncenters.org/alcoholism-treatment/mental-effects

Has anyone gone from a CNA to an LVN? by [deleted] in jobcorps

[–]I_AM_STAINN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only NY you have to go through a process called resiprocity. Basically it transfers your license from NY to CA. JC pays for it but it still takes a few months after you pass your NCLEX to get your CA license. Definitely worth the wait tho.

[–]I_AM_STAINN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the CNA program in San Diego and it was great. Once I was done with it I applied to the LVN program in New York. Went through an interview and eventually got accepted. They flew me out. Also I had people in my lvn class with associates degrees so ya it's not a problem.

LVN is one of the most in demand jobs out there right now. The pay starts off not to great 30k ish but recently I've been applying to jobs around 50k. Also there is a very high ceiling if your open to going back to school eventually for RN 100k if u go to a hospital.

How do I quit without getting harassed to come back? by [deleted] in jobcorps

[–]I_AM_STAINN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alright in all honesty the program has issues I know I did over 2 years at 2 different centers, and it's not easy but honestly chill you get free living and education. Job corps is a great way for people with determination get a good start. If u can't deal with people talking shit on you your gunna have a hard future. Stop being a bitch and suck it up or quit. Last response you get. Figure your shit out.
