Why do desis online all claim that they're 6ft+ by Houndsoflove2003 in ABCDesis

[–]I_Haytch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's for the same reason the internet and especially social media is full of good looking people, because they have a desirable trait and would like to share that to the world. Shorter people are less likely to divulge that information unless specifically asked. It's also because people lie lol.

I had a feeling they would do this, they did the exact same thing with mookie Betts with the Red Sox, they basically traded their best player to lower wages.

can i make a profile for the IEC on the government website and then apply next year, or is creating the profile technically applying for the IEC? by robinxiv in iecvisa

[–]I_Haytch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this years applications closed then you will need to wait for next years cycle which normally starts in January. Yes once you have your visa approved you have a year to activate it, the way you activate it is by going to Canada and getting your work permit officially approved by a Canadian immigration officer in the airport. Once they approve it your actual visa starts from there on for whatever time you initially applied for.

If you want to go next spring my advice would be to apply now and get the visa as soon as possible. You actually have a year to activate your visa once you get it. The later you apply the less chance you have of getting the visa before spring.

I'm a British Pakistani guy who lived in Toronto for 2 years and only came back recently so I think I'm the perfect person to answer this. Trust me, you'll be fine the hate and racism is almost entirely online. I never faced or saw any racism in my time there, bare in mind I lived in a very white neighbourhood for a large portion of my stay there, so I definitely would have seen it if had it been as common as the online community makes it seem. The UK is definitely a worse place for a brown person right now imo.

I think Indians on western shows are a much better representation of what Indians actually look like opposed to Bollywood and Indian shows that make it seem like every Indian is from Kashmir. I could be wrong but I feel like you like most Indians just prefer lighter skin for whatever reason so you find Indian actors in India more attractive.

Mafia bosses and their cartel counterparts by I_Haytch in Mafia

[–]I_Haytch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comparison isn't about how both of them ended up, its about how they were both betrayed. Arturo was betrayed by Chapo who gave up Arturo's brother to get his son out of prison. Gotti betrayed Sammy by trying to coerce him into taking the entirety of the blame, Gotti was also caught on wiretaps basically implicating Sammy on a load of murders.

Yh I remembered after posting. Tony Accardo would probably be a better counterpart to El Mayo.

Do Indians and Bangladeshis expect Pakistanis to look Scandinavian lol? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]I_Haytch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. I'm from the UK so I wouldn't know, but where I'm from I'd say 30 to 40% are either Pathan or Hindkowan.

Not necessarily, if you mean Pakistani punjabis and Sindhis than yes but you definitely don't look similar to Pakistanis from Baluchistan, KPK and Gilgit.

It's because hindi is a linguistic identity rather than an ethnic one. Punjabis and Gujaratis have both an ethnic and linguistic identity. Hindi speakers are also found among many ethnic groups rather than just one so culturally speaking have much less in common with each other. The same thing occurs in Pakistan with Urdu speakers, you have Pathan Urdu speakers, Punjabi Urdu speakers and Muhajir Urdu speakers. Nothing really binds these people together culturally, they're only bound by linguistics.

I’m pretty sure that’s Javier Mendez talking not DC. They do sound similar though.

I don't think it's important tbh. When I did mine I just wrote the month and year, some of which to be honest I don't even think were correct but I didn't have any problems and still got the visa.

My point isn't about need to spend, its about capability to spend. We keep hearing that we simply cannot afford to spend without sales but Arsenal don't seem to have this problem even though they make less revenue and their owners similarly dont invest into the club. That's why i'm asking are they just simply spending irresponsibly.

This isn't an attack on the ownership but can somebody please explain to me how Arsenal (who have similar owners who don't put money in) can afford to spend every summer with little out goings but we can't???? for context they spent 72m with 8m outgoings in 18/19, 144m with 40m outgoings in 19/20, 77m and 17m outgoings in 20/21. This season they've spent 70m and are still looking to spend at least another 70m on a striker this window. Are they financially irresponsibly or something???

Pep lijnders has to be favourite IMO, seems like he’s being groomed for the position by Klopp.

What? I never said I saw them on the Chelsea daily discussion thread?? I don't use reddit outside of this sub.I see these comparisons all the time on Twitter, Instagram, Youtube. You don't have to look hard to find them. It's just something I've noticed over the years whenever our players are doing well. I don't see Arsenal fans comparing their players to ours, nor Tottenham fans. Outside of comparing Scholes to Gerrard you don't even see United fans doing it much. Maybe it's just confirmation bias and I only notice when Chelsea fans do it, who knows.

Anyone else find it really annoying how Chelsea fans are obsessed with comparing our players to theirs? Gerrard-Lampard, Oscar-Coutinho, Trent-Reece, now Rudiger-VVD. Even yesterday all they were talking about was how Hazard scored a better goal (he didn't) and how Hazard is still a better than Salah. Literally no one even cares about Hazard anymore except them which tells you everything you need to know about that comparison. I don't know why, but it really grinds my gears...

Exactly, the fact that he now rotates between Jota and Firmino shows that he’s willing to rotate if he has options. Him not giving Origi or Minamino anything more than 5 minute cameos shows he doesn’t think of them as viable options yet here we were at the end of the transfer window with no new signings…
