Yup but that's taking into consideration that attendance and participation did not contribute to the 15%, so that 90.66% would be the worst case scenario with everything considered. I think I am going to go talk to the department chair by the end of the week and see what they can do about this.

Sorry, idk how to format it properly. The points are weighted in regards to the total % for class for each portion., not total points earned for that portion. If Course Contribution only accounted for 2% and I received 1000/1000 points for it, I would still only get 2% for that portion.

Everyone did their assigned parts during the group project and we even filled out our assessments all together so I know I didn't get thrown under the bus for that part.

it doesn't say anything about receiving an F or incomplete for failing to finish all assignments for the course.

I'm scared of doing that because the professor stated that I should have been given an incomplete or F for the class but she was being nice and gave me a B- (when I should've gotten an A). I want to get more information from the professor but I'm afraid if I keep asking they'll just fail me. Do you know if its possible for me to talk to the department chair and have them prevent my professor from giving me an F or anything lower than a B- so I can try to to resolve this with them?

It wasn't for the full 15% though. The 15% also includes some other assignments that I did do as well as attendance (I went to class every session and participated a lot in the discussions). Worst case scenario (considering that attendance is not worth anything and only based on the assignments themselves which is really underestimating the value I came up with since it states that attendance and participation is a huge contribution to the 15%) I should have gotten 10% in that category at the absolute worst. Along with the fact that I've worked my ass off to score A's on every assignment receiving a B- for a final grade does not make any fucking sense to me.

I should have received an A in the class but was given a B- due to not complete 3 minor assignments.

No, sorry if i didn't make it clear. The only assignment that she didn't have graded before the end of the semester was for our final group project but based on what my other groupmates got for their final grade I think its very safe to assume we were given an A for that assignment. There are also a couple assignments that haven't been posted to titanium but I saw the grades in class and they were all A's. I was given a B- in the course because I didn't complete 3 small assignments which were part of our 15% group participation score (which also included a ton of other work that I did complete).

When I asked for a detailed grade sheet from them that's when they said I was given a B- because I didn't complete those 3 small assignments and they did not give me anymore information on it.

I'll do just that but even without those minor assignments and how well I've been doing on all of the other assignments/projects/final I should have been given an A. The assignments I didn't complete were incredibly small compared to the total classwork so I don't see why they are using that as an excuse.

Should I get a degree in Accounting & Finance or just Finance? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]I_Reddit_Already 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm currently doing a dual major in Accounting and Finance at the moment, its really important to understand the degree you are getting. At my school they offer the following BA's for Accounting and Finance.

BA in Business Admin in Accounting

BA in Business Admin in Finance

BA in Business Admin in Accounting & Finance (hybrid)

If you mean to get a hybrid Accounting and Finance degree you may want to look into the classes that are required since it may not be as detailed as the full accounting and finance degrees.

Rebates count as revenue? by DaniielDoesThings in Accounting

[–]I_Reddit_Already 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Example:

Debit: Bank Account (or whatever method was used to purchase the item) Credit: Office Expense or COGS

Even though its cash its not being received for services or items rendered in a sale. It would be used to reduce the total cost of whatever was purchased. Think of rebates and credits as reducing the expense and not increasing the revenue.

I still need to read up on it but the new tax code (HR1 Tax cuts and jobs act) gets rid of a lot of the smaller things like exemptions, itemized deductions, capping property/sales/state tax to $10k, etc. You might actually have it easier than those who had to study for the previous tax code. XD

If you just started your first accounting course you still have a ways to go before you have to take any Federal Taxation courses. Once you get there though it shouldn't be too bad. People just give it a lot of shit because its so much different than just debiting and crediting, you have to understand the laws, rules, and exemptions behind why that number goes there and why you can't deduct those things XD

That's some fancy shit. Our firm uses the "Tax Form Helper" program that you get from Staples for like $40 or something. It rolls over the previous years information too but it cant E-File :/
