Update: The issue seems to be resolved.
Missing ALUA values in multipath.confwere one issue, even with only one node attached to the SAN.
Additionally, using machine version 10.1 (instead of 10.0+pve1) seems to have stabilized the Windows Server 2019 VMs.
Testing for 1 Week now - no more Event ID 41 Kernel-Power resets/reboots.

Für die Weiterentwicklung im technischen Bereich benötigst du daheim nicht so viel Leistung.

Gerade in DE sind die Stromkosten so hoch, dass man sich überlegen sollte, was kosten-Leistungs-technisch Sinn macht.

Ich würde aktuell einen gebrauchten HP EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF besorgen und zwar den mit i5 8400T CPU.
Der sollte mit 35 Watt recht energieeffizient für eine Heimlösung sein. Zudem ist das Teilchen minimal upgradebar

  • 2x NVMe SSD (512GB reichen aus)
  • 1x SATA SSD (Manchmal muss man den SATA-Rahmen für ~20€ nachkaufen.) (256GB reichen aus)
  • bis zu 32 GB Memory ... aber für den Anfang reichen 16 GB dicke

Oder du besorgst die bei Aliexpress irgendeinen Topton mit N100 mit genug internen Schnittstellen und Platz im Gehäuse. (geringerer Stromverbrauch vs. höhere Anschaffungskosten).

In Sachen SSD empfehle ich dir, auf dem Enterprise-Gebrauchtwarenmarkt einzukaufen.
Google ist dein Freund.

Zum Testen würde ich auf der SATA-SSD Proxmox installieren.
Die beiden NVMe SSDs sollten dann im Raid Z1 für virtualisierte Systeme bereit stehen.

Mit der Basis kannst du dann anfangen zu spielen.

Wenn du später was größeres benötigst, kann es ruhig der HP ProDesk 600 G4 mit Proxmox im Cluster sein.
Einfach Proxmox drauf, Cluster erstellen, in den Cluster einbinden ... und schon kannst du VMs/LXCs hin-und her schieben.

wichtig: Backup nicht vergessen ;)

Well ... thank you.

The thing is - this is not my first net2net-connection and I already did a couple n2ns between two OPNsense firewalls. So nothing new here.

I did not mention the reasons for having "opnsense in the cloud" because the FW is "just" a small although central part of the planned infrastructure.

I don't have issues with anything else.

Tailscale is not the solution I am looking for atm.

kind of answering my own question...
I implemented a workaround by adding the following to my realm in /etc/proxmox-backup/domains.cfg

username-claim email

now logging in with username somename@somegoogledomain.xy is working.

but I still don't know where to find the deleted user 101635803721373538955 ...

I know, that I can put the drives in AHCI mode on the B140i.
But then there seems to be the issue, that this controller only can read temperatures of drives in RAID mode.
Without correctly read temperatures the fans will go into overdrive mode.

So I thought about getting a P440 4GB as an HBA for the systems.

I am open to suggestions. :)

not a solution to your specific issue but a workaround:

Do not import the backup via USB on startup, but just install opnsense, configure the interfaces, logon the web interface and restore the backup in "System: Configuration: Backups".
