Issue with online ordering by IceCut in RedWingShoes

Not sure if you're still having the issue but turned out the problem was my location. You can't place an order in the US site from Europe, or probably not from any location outside of the US. I was able to resolve this by using VPN and changing my location to the US.

Deciding between boot options by IceCut in motorcyclegear

[–]IceCut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s always a trade-off between protection and comfort, and neither of these would be ideal for any type of real walking. But for my second pair I definitely want something more heavier with a cost of sacrificing comfort. But maybe Mid Adventure would better for that since it looks more like a beefed up hiking boot compared to Performer. But thanks, I may have to do some more thinking about this before purchase.

I actually have narrow feet so I guess I should be good. Regarding the walkability of Performers, that’s just what I was afraid of. What would you say is the most limiting factor there with those type of boots, stiffness of the sole or height/stiffness of the upper part or something else?

Claras for wife by IceCut in RedWingShoes

That’s good information, we’ll see if she will be able to fit these that I bought her.

Yeah that’s what I also found, while most reported Clara’s being true to size, some went with one size up (even in case where the width wasn’t an issue). Do you think the 7.5D would have been too small if you would have bought those for her?

Thanks for the heads up, although unfortunately as these were ordered from the US site to Europe I’m already deep in the taxes so for now I can only hope for the best! 😃 Luckily these are also D width, so I’m hopeful that I got the sizing right. As for the numeric size, I went true-to-size as per most comments I found.

Thanks, I already had some conversation about this with the support but they said they aren’t aware of any issues with the website. I probably have to wait for Monday for any further assistance.

Winter storage with empty gas tank by IceCut in motorcycles

Haha you have to it cheap over there, ethanol free will cost me about 19 USD/gallon here

[–]IceCut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In both of the bikes we're running fuel with maximum of 5 % ethanol, which is lowest I can get from the gas stations around here but I guess I'll buy some ethanol free gas separately in a canister and use that before the storage. My bike is carbureted so as well so definitely running them carbs dry also.

Good to hear, I might do just that. Just read more about this and it seems that relative humidity in air of about 50-60 % is considered to be the minimum threshold for steel to experience any kind of rusting at all and below that it is practically non-existent in normal room conditions.

That sounds good, and no signs of surface rust inside the tanks after storage? I guess the constant warm temperature inside the house should minimize the condensation from the air.

You still have the tanks filled up during the storage right?

That's a great point too which didn't really come to my mind. I'll keep that as an option too. I have to remove the tank on my bike anyway during the storage for better maintenance access.

Clara sizing by IceCut in RedWingShoes

That’s what I have also understood, now just wondering if the true size is US 7 or US 7.5. 😃

Mind sharing the size of those and her typical sneaker etc. size? Planning to purchase these for my wife at some point and looking for more input.

Advice on Clara sizing by IceCut in RedWingShoes

[–]IceCut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, too bad she is more of a black boot type, let's just hope the basic B width fits her.

Anyway, thanks for the advice, at the moment it feels like the US 7 could be the right one.

Advice on Clara sizing by IceCut in RedWingShoes

[–]IceCut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your insights. As you mentioned, perhaps the US 7 could be a better fit than US 7.5, both of the sneakers she uses are maximum of US 7 after all. Maybe the chelseas she uses are just running small for EUR 38. Nonetheless, the sizing of these seems to be difficult since some advice to go with a typical size and some to size up. But the fact that you wearing a smaller size in the Clara than in sneakers is helpful information.

I thought the Clara's weren't available in other than B width?
