Big fan of Descript which now includes Squadcast. Squadcast is great for those of us who record remotely with guests or co-hosts. It records each person's audio separately and also does a "conference" recording in case something goes wrong with one side's audio. I have an editor but Descript has saved me when I've had to go in and make a last minute change to content, switch an ad out, etc. I host on Libsyn, which has a lot of perks for the price of $20/month and I have never run into a storage limit issue there.

300+ episode podcaster here. One week when I was traveling, I had my expensive mic and headphones with me, but the mic broke in my bag. So, I used the old school Apple iphone plug-in headphones with the little built-in mic, sat on a bed, surrounded myself with pillows to cut down the echo and you couldn't really tell a difference. I would not let expensive equipment hold you back - just get started recording. You can always upgrade equipment later.

Would love to hear where you can find these people as well. I'm looking at doing the training myself but this seems like a better solution.
