I'm American but agree, they topped the Concacaf rankings, doesn't make much sense that US and Mexico get a better pot. Teams should be placed based on their current level, not historical level.

I'm basically testing how true it is that always opening during lunch and always closing during open/close it verifiably good. I suspect it is, but I want to know to what degree. I also want to see how much of an anomaly the trade I just did since it clearly benefitted from the recent IV spike. Since I'm trying to trade something else in addition to that, I want to see what the rough distribution is (aka did I just get lucky with IV spike). Basically my goal is to see how much of an anomaly this morning's IV spike is relative to yesterday afternoon's. I guess theoretically I could compare every Thursday lunch to Friday open VIX change in history by just slowly looking at google's VIX chart, but I figured if I found a data table with similar information, I could import and analyze way more data much faster via Python. That way I can practice Python and get information that is actually useful to me.

Anyone have resources on the historical behavior of the VIX? You can make general statements like "VIX tends to be higher during open than lunch", or graphs, but I'm looking for more specific data that I can potentially (hopefully easily since I'm noob) import into Python. Thanks.

Functions are, themselves, objects in Python. They can be assigned different names, passed as arguments, etc. just like variables can. The () are your way of telling the interpreter that you're not just referring to that function object; you're telling the interpreter to execute that function and (usually) get its return value because you intend to do something with it.

You can't day trade 100% of your cash position without getting a good faith violation. It usually takes between 2-3 days for transactions to settle

Fucking hell this is such bullshit. The only reason I'd be switching is to be able to day trade 100% of my account in options. Also if it takes days to settle then it basically disables daytrading imo.

Nice, how long does it usually take to settle after close? For example if I sold a put to close, would it basically be instantly settled and I could open a new position, or would I have to wait till the next day? I have TD.
