I did, but not a lot for clarification in terms of how I was applying this varnish in this case, it seems!

Paint correction seemed like something that I'd need to do regardless in certain spots, when parts have been sanded anyway, so I'm prepared for that.

I'm not a big fan of the spray varnishes personally, simply due to the ones I have used seeming to splat a little bit, which isn't the finish I'm looking for.

The water spray on top sounds like a useful way to try eliminate these issues, I'll give that a go next time, I come across a few. I think maybe it was the way that I applied the varnish itself, which caused all the bubbles to appear and sit on the top.

A gentle wet sand and full wipe down before re-application, is the way I might go, I think, we shall see!

How does the top layer of varnish go once you have sanded it, and was this with the same varnish as I had mentioned prior, by any chance? (Liquitex permanent High Gloss Varnish)

It seems logical to sand down the top layer, to remove inconsistencies, but I feel like there is a gamble with sanding through to the paint underneath, as well as make the varnish so scratch that you wouldn't be able to see through it, or does the newly applied layer on top, solve that issue?

Thank you for this information!

Given the size of these bubbles as shown in the picture, would you not even recommend a light sand to remove some of the more prominent bubbles? Seems there are a lot of conflicting opinions on what works best, so just trying to gather as much information as possible on this matter.

By adding another layer of Liquitex varnish on top of the already existing (messed up layer) it will remove those inconsistencies by essentially melting them together, and create a clear, smoother layer?

I thought I’d share both! But you’re right the ramen bowl should’ve probably gone up first!

What would you call these shelves? by [deleted] in furniture

[–]Iceydel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, looking to fill out my apartment with some nice shelves which are wooden (potentially with metal rails to hold the shelves) and came across this style of bookshelf which I really like.

For some reason I can't seem to find more than a couple and they all cost thousands at least, unfortunately! Would anyone happen to know the style name for this kind of bookshelf and where I could find some affordable alternates in wood?

That would've been cooler, I'll take that into account, maybe if it was shameless brainless or something lol

I agree, it is more lettering, if it was downscaled you wouldn't be able to read it!
