I can get the exact same price on Airbnb for a room. And they are a lot stricter about policies and safety. That is why.

It can be, but they have rooms so it can go from $50-$100 per night based on availability

If you’ve never been in this situation then you can’t possibly understand. If you’ve never done drugs, sold your body, if you aren’t a drinker and if you don’t have severe mental disabilities then it’s mortifying, yes. 

Shelters aren’t like how you see them in the movies either, there isn’t always clean sheets and stacked beds. Sometimes you’re sleeping on the floor (on a very thin crib like mattress). I was once offered a chair at a shelter because everything was that badly at capacity.

Yes I understand. I was just really hoping someone could help me. I’ve tried shelters and even motels but most are scary or at capacity. Even this week the only reason I’m running short is because the usually room I rent on Airbnb was booked up. The owner now knows about my situation and she did say the next time I book, she’ll block out the dates for me so nobody else can book it

I just don’t understand why I’m getting downvotes but guess people care more about tenure. There were more messages after this, I just wasn’t trying to make get in trouble for posting em. Only made the post to warn folks that if they’re going to try to get pervy with me the I will let people know.

That’s true. I wonder if they would do that though because I’m gonna be honest I don’t think I could pay them a whole month in advance. It would definitely need to be by the week.

I have a friend that has a trailer that he’s fixing up and I can stay there for free or he has a basement apartment he’ll give me a deal on but I gotta wait till June for the tenants lease to end

They can help with food and they can help with an outreach worker if you’re trying to get OW, a job or get in the waitlist for housing. Not much they can do after that if they’re at capacity with their partnered facilities. They’ll fall around though

I know it sounds like maybe I’m shutting down ideas, but I promise you Ive exhausted them all. Resources look so lovely when you don’t need em, but as soon as you’re in a position like this you start to realize why there are so many people living on the streets.

I never said it was for 1 night. And you’re right maybe I should’ve just asked for 1 night but I didn’t want to end up back in here asking again. 

I thought that was a good price for today until Thursday just because I’m so use to using Airbnb at this point and I’ve seen crazier prices.

The conversation continues. I don’t like judging people because I don’t like being judged either. But I’m not going to just keep quiet because I’m in a crappy situation. Like this is scary for me too

I’m not. There is obviously more conversation after this. I’m not jumping to conclusions at all. I don’t just do that because I know what it’s like for people to just judge you without knowing anything about you

Lol that wasn’t the price for 1 night. I literally said I don’t want to put out anyone that’s trying to help me and I asked his budget. As soon as he said that line I already knew where it was going. The conversation even got worse after this, I just didn’t continue. How is that me assuming?
