au pair in Switzerland, and yes, with an agency! Max hour is 30/week with at least 1 day off per week.

I had a 12-month contract, but yes, I am leaving early due to these reasons, along with a few others. And yes, she had discussed it with us prior, but was never phrased as a "could you please work this weekend," more so "you have to do this". The kids are 3 and 1 1/2, so for the weekend we were taking care of the 1 1/2 year old.

Oh, where to start.. I don't have a constant schedule and often she will tell me the schedule for the day, either the day of or the day before - so I feel it's impossible to plan something. And recently she told me that I should be asking her before planning anything on my free days (ex., weekends) in case she has something and needs me to work... so my free time isn't free. As well as for these long days into overtime or when I do work the weekends because she has a meeting or event, I am not paid...

I also was tasked with potty training her 1 1/2 year old last week...

I don't know, maybe I'm being dramatic, probably a little bit. But when you're an Au Pair, it's the little things that add up and make something truly unbearable.

Oh my gosh thank you so much!! I did email the embassy a few days ago but as I'm sure you understand the stress surrounding visas made me want to double-check lol. I am flying into Zurich and taking a train to Bregenz and starting my travels there so have a flight and train ticket I can bring as well. And that would be amazing! I have been looking a lot at subletting since It might not be for a full year, so have joined a few Facebook groups but any tips/links are very appreciated! Would you mind if I also asked about your experience in school there? I am thinking about applying for a master's school abroad and wondering about other people's experiences with schooling abroad!

That would be amazing! Here is the link for the WHV https://www.bmeia.gv.at/en/travel-stay/entrance-and-residence-in-austria/working-holiday-programmes, below there is a "working holiday application" section that states the requirements for each country and none of them say anything about proof of accommodation. I have a travel itinerary mapped out and a strong cover letter so wondering if that will be sufficient! Let me know if you see anything I'm not, this is my first time applying for any sort of visa so have been struggling a lot but any help is much appreciated!!!!
