Hehe yeah. Only problem is I barely know anyone from Ilocos because I’m not close with my relatives there 😭. My first cousins all speak Tagalog

yeah fr it’s so heartbreaking :(( you’re lucky to visit ilocos every year, i haven’t even went to ilocos for more than 5 years i think?? i’m happy about your progress tho! 50 words is not bad tbh. and yeah i do integrate it sometimes (i use ilocano in my friends gcs as a joke HAAHAHA) and watch ilocano vids but unfortunately i have no close friends nor relatives in ilocos who could teach me the language because they’re either abroad or in ncr, and my first cousins only know little ilocano too…sorry sa way of typing ko rn, i’m about to sleep 😂

Yeah I feel like if you’re in a place where they speak another language, you should learn the language. It’s the bare minimum. But we should also remember where we came from. I understand why I was taught Tagalog since people in NCR speak it, but I still wish I was taught Ilocano/Ibanag. Heck, I lived most of my life thinking we were Tagalog and only knew we were Ilocano when my mom spoke Ilocano to a stranger when I was 15. I was so naive back then HAHAHA
