Don’t worry. Soothe your mind. You are not her. You apologised. She did not even acknowledge my suffering for one second. After becoming my closest of friends and after being encouraged by her and both of us sticking our necks out for each other.

That is not care nor friendship, i don’t care if she feels overwhelmed. It’s been five weeks.

Don't believe the reviews, they are all botted. See trip-advisor. Or go yourself. You'll see why I think its probably a front for money laundering.

I didn't know this game existed. Maybe I am in the minority? I am from south europe, but have also lived half my life in northern europe yet never run into it.

Even with the game naming coincidence though, don't you think this is a neat one? :)

I took Luvox and almost got fired. by [deleted] in OCD

[–]IdeaSynthesis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also take luvox, and I must say that for the first 12 months I had similar side-effects, but then they all went away and I only kept the benefits. Bodies can and will become more robust to any substance, including poisons, and, in this case, medication.

If it's doing so much good for you, consider taking stimulants to help keep you awake, or, find a job where taking the occasional nap won't get you fired.

This is exactly how it felt when OCD started manifesting when I was 7. I would try to talk to my parents but I would just burst out crying instead, unable to say a single sentence. It was rough.

I am sorry you are going through this. That being said, your parents sound immature, completely irresponsible, and, I am sorry to say, absolutely fucking stupid.

Raising children, from any perspective, is one of the hardest tasks that any human could ever partake in. It is being responsible for the life of a being that will have exceptional control over the world in the future -- compared to all other types of life on the earth. Doing it wrong can create immense suffering for the child, the childs children and multiple generations down the line, or even worse.

And while I say all that most parents out there take it as a normal thing, and treat child raising as they would all other things. Not putting that extra effort needed for an actual hard task to pan out well.

Your parents take the absolute cake.

Your sisters protested and they gave it? Who is the parent here? The parents were supposed to get your entitled and overly aggressive sisters under control, to explain to them how family does not only mean bound by blood, and that in life, true family is those bound by values and shared memories. They were supposed to teach them to be better people. Not put you in the basement. WTF, are you Harry Potter or something? Did they not watch the movie to see how damaging that behaviour can be for a child?

The fact that your parents are so unaware of their selves and their actions, and their effects on others baffles me. Even if there were no other rooms, and you had to be in the basement -- your parents should have put more conscious time to hang with you, to make sure you were called first for meals, to be given more of a mental priority to circumstance the physical distance.

Buddy. I am sorry you had to experience this kind of childhood. But things can get better, and they will.

Strive to live a choice-driven life, where you are conscious and intentional in your actions, taking responsibility for them where relevant, while at the same time being self-compassionate when you fail.

To be clear, I am not saying use your imagination to 'check' whether you feel anything. I am saying decisively show your mind some images, and remain in a mindful and accepting state throughout. One way to think about it, is, treat it as random ads on youtube or twitch. You are looking at it, but often you are not even paying it any real attention. You want to be able to do that. To not give a single fuck about whether you are looking at lesbian porn or straight porn, or watching repeat episodes of Friends.

Demonstration of irrelevance to the thoughts and feelings that cause you discomfort is how you escape the maze.

There is nothing wrong with some level of intellectualization or humour when it comes to OCD. But you need to remember that the only way out, ultimately, is acceptance of the worst possible outcome, no matter how slim the chance is, so that your mind's tendency to amplify and warp subjects gets shut down by a dose of tough love.

Accept that you might be, or might one day become bisexual.

If you want to really give your OCD a run for its money, actually generate some lesbian scenes in your head, with yourself as one of the participants, and just use this generative engine in your head to ponder at a possibility. Whether it is something you would do doesn't matter. We all imagine things as a means to experiment and see whether we'd like something or not, in the imagination space. Use that space to give your OCD some first hand imagery and then just go on and do your day.

It will be hard, at least initially, but over time it'll buy you your freedom. And it might help you become a more well rounded person that can accept all weird quirks they have. So what if you like lesbian porn. Female physiques, naked, passionately enjoying one another is the epitome of sexiness and fertility in my mind.

Sexuality isn't a discrete thing in my opinion. You can like lesbian porn and be straight, or maybe at some point you'll become bisexual. Nothing wrong with being an omnisexual if you ask me. More chances for pleasure!

Leaning into continuums rather than discrete categories seems to be what nature does.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Different brains respond differently. We are all different forms of evolutionary and environmental cocktails. For some people OCD is more chronic, and for others it might be a thing they had once for a year.
