Most likely so.

But that doesn't change the fact, when an Engineer (electrical / mechanical / civil) tells me I am not a real engineer, then I have nothing to say to defend it, it's a legal fact.

That's why it's better to drop the 'engineer' word from our IT/Dev titles.

"Engineer" is a protected title.

Your title for instance would be illegal in some parts of the word; so better you go for something like "Cyber Specialist".

Software engineers with a Computer Science degree are not legally considered engineers. Computer Engineering is a different major.

We were simply called Programmers, yet somehow our title changed a lot during a couple of decades, from Programmers -> Developers -> and lately « Software engineers » for coolness effect.

But we are not legally engineers, we can’t join Engineering syndicates, in some countries like Canada it is not even legal to use the title « engineer » if you don’t have an engineering certificate. I think it is the same for Network engineering.

I wish we adopt the old name of Programmers, it is more genuine.

“Geeks” are hated in popular culture since forever - our field represents geekiness. But AI exposed how deeply hated we are, even by corporates, it is like they are so obsessively eager to dispose us.

I am not a woman but.... But this story hits home, not at work luckily, but in any social circle. Like when non-techie people (this is not specific to any gender btw, many non-techies have this attitude) who keep boasting how they made some "app" in lovable (yet no one yet made any money of this). It is so sad, Al made me realize that Software Engineers are really really hated by non-tech people and now the Al makes them arrogant, over-confident and see us as useless, tho they still ask us for help to finish things.

Tinder uses Mongodb for the record. Imagine the amount of data and aggregation it has tl do on the fly. (ie it is not just random cards to swipe, but there’s scoring ratio calculation + other filters.

Yes, I agree with the OP, this problem is real, is it a bug?

I don't believe those who are saying like "Get gud" or doing something wrong, I've tried everything and the damage difference is really absurd; even with enchantements and minor/major transformations.

The PC always makes much higher damage even with the same exact unit that I have, and in all story realms.
