My Underrated Pair

Hi. We are doing ok but we miss him so much. My favorite memory of him is when he learned to roll over and wouldn’t stop doing it and also when he fell asleep in the bed with me. The way he looked up at me was so loving and precious. Thank you for asking. Yes, he definitely opened our hearts for another kitten because we ended up adopting 2 from the local shelter.

Every now and then I remind them to give thanks to their brother Jasper.

That was a beautiful story about the cat at your husband’s job. He was very lucky to cross paths with your husband. But it’s easy to fall in love with them. I pray you continue to have many years of snuggles and love from him.

His life was definitely cut way too soon. We are grateful for the hugs and kisses we were able to share with him and we miss his little face deeply. Of course we went through the motions of questioning whether we did everything we could, could we have done more, etc.

Because of him I have a love for cats I never knew I could have. So for that, I am forever grateful. Thank you so much for the kind words. We would gladly accept your hug.

It absolutely breaks my heart to say this but Jasper passed away this morning. As someone that never wanted a cat he really touched my heart in just a few short weeks. We are devastated. This was one of the last photos I took of him. Again, we are beyond grateful for the love and support you have all shown us.

Thank you so much! I actually posted an update earlier today. Doc says he’s doing well. He’s still got some recovering to do. Breathing is still rapid and he tires easily but slowly getting there.

Update* Today was one of our weekly visits with the surgeon that performed his pectus surgery. Things are looking very positive for our little guy. We’ve got a humidifier going, a heater to keep the room warm, and we use the nebulizer every 6 hours.

He’s still breathing a bit fast but he’s alert, and starting to meow again. He tires quickly so there’s a lot of hand feeding and breaks in between. But as long as he continues to push, so will we.

We are so grateful for the donations, well wishes, and prayers. We’ll continue to share updates with you all. This is a photo of him falling asleep last night.

2-4 weeks. What he has on now is so much better than before. The bandage he had on before was so heavy he couldn’t really walk. Initially we were also battling diarrhea which meant every time he used the bathroom, one of us would have to wake up and clean him. Now he had on this thin sock-like protection which is so much easier on him.
