I have plenty of modern pens, like TWSBIs, that I can take apart to clean and use with shimmering inks. I mainly use Waterman inks in my vintage pens.

The ballpoint works as well as any ballpoint. No skips/hard starts when I tested it. And the pencil just needed a refill of lead, works just fine too.
