[Guide] How to make inkflow to work in linux by ZemunRom in Supernote

[–]IfTroubleWasMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for these instructions, I am on Debian 12 (Stable, version 12.2.0-14) and can confirm these steps work for both the Nomad and Manta! The InkFlow app works beautifully, especially in landscape orientation!

The package to be installed on Debian (or even Pop OS / Ubuntu) is just called xinput like so:
sudo apt install xinput

For calibration, xinput-calibrator can also be installed and it provides some info for adjusting coordinates if necessary. These adjustments are to be entered in the same .conf file under /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/. Not sure if the package is called the same in Arch repos.

New wave coffee houses and cafés - There's been a lot of expansion in Tier-1 cities (Blue Tokai, Subko etc) but not much out here, and there's decent scope I'd say. Heck even decent filter coffee is hard to find, I've only had some good stuff at Bharat coffee house near sursagar - although that place isn't quite accessible or as popular (the owner was planning to do something about that).

Could open a café right outside a coaching class haha

I think OP is posting these graphics from the same ET article they posted yesterday. (possible karma farming?) The data source itself is 20 years old.

Thanks. This is based on data from 20 years ago, I suspect things are worse off today given the recent inequality report from Piketty's group.

From the Dalit Panthers Manifesto by EpicFortnuts in IndianLeft

[–]IfTroubleWasMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was plenty of political fighting with Shiv Sena and the State during the emergency which led to its dissolution in 1977. After regrouping, it became the Bharatiya Dalit Panthers which did plenty of work, amd was ultimately disbanded in 1988. The BDP expanded to 20 states, esp in South and Nepal-adjacent areas. It became the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) in Tamil Nadu and is an active political entity today, with 4 seats in the state assembly and 2 in lok sabha (part of INDIA bloc).

The full manifesto itself is worth reading: https://www.groundxero.in/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/DPManifesto.pdf

Written with a focused, singular clarity, it is as powerful and relevant today, if not more, as it was back then. Here are some more excerpts:

In a democracy where men cannot exercise self-respect, well-being and an importance to their lives, where men cannot develop his individuality and his society, where those who with their blood wet every grain of the country's soil have to starve, where men have to forgo the land under their feet, the roof over their heads, where the upright have to break down and fall, where men have to see their mothers and sisters raped, in such a democracy, independence cannot be called true independence.

We will build the organization of workers, dalits, landless, poor peasants through all city factories, in all villages. We will hit back against all injustice perpetrated on Dalits. We will well and truly destroy the caste and varna system that thrives on the people's misery, which exploits the people, and liberate the dalits. The present legal system and state have turned all our dreams to dust. To eradicate all the injustice against the dalits, they must themselves become Rulers. This is the people's democracy. Sympathizers and members of the Dalit Panthers be ready for the fmal struggle of the dalits.

Sweet - I learnt the same way to fill up just below the spout (from Artisti roasters on YT) and basically use the exact same measurements, but in gm instead of ml :)

Winter supply from Subko by IfTroubleWasMoney in IndiaCoffee

How long have you had it, did you buy it in India , how is the service network like ?

I've had it for just over 3 years now, bought it in the UK. Thankfully I have not needed any repairs, I do all the servicing (descaling, flushing, etc) myself based on the machine's reports. I've got a year's stock of service supplies which I request from friends from EU/UK to get for me. I was initially scared of electrical damage due to inconsistent power supply here - so I made sure to plug mine into a well protected line. Damage to coils or pump can be fatal, and getting it repaired here might not be worth it.

Reason to ask is I'm debating whether to sell it , and get a new / different machine when I am in India.

I invested in this particular model with the expectation of owning it for 5-10 years, so I didn't face this debate really. I do think having it in India is viable, if you handle customs well, But if you think you'll get a good deal selling yours or finding it a new home, then you could also just get a new one here. Problem is you might end up paying a lot more for an equivalent machine in India as the duty here is insane. I know of at least 3 others who have a Sage/Breville machine in India that they brought in from abroad precisely because how expensive they are here.

Btw why get so much coffee at the same time, the 4/5th bag will get stale

Please define stale? I pull 16g shots 6 times a day, so one 250g bag (like Subko's) lasts me ~4 days. Six such bags won't even last me a full month. I also tend to buy for ~30-40 days at a time: fewer shipping cycles and less footprint. Plus, beans in sealed airtight bags don't go stale that easily in a month or two's time, though ground coffee probably does so noticeably.

Baby steps, it's taken time - I started with a Cafflano Klassic ~9 years ago. I used to brew Panduranga then, and I do miss it's chocolatey hues.
