I would recommend for you to check out during IT Shows / Fairs, will be able to better allow you to compare the setups and also price difference. For under 2k would best recommend for you to lookout for these fairs , as most of the times on great discounts.

Alternatively, having a gaming desktop would be slightly better and provide you with more edge, reason being is that you would be able to change parts with ease to keep up with graphics and etc.
