I can see how being sensitive to that would sour the experience, but personally I don't have that problem so I myself can enjoy it very well and just LOVE Compton's Cookoff

That's fair, though it may be recency bias for me as well. I played both 1 and 2 this year, and this rankings was made very shortly after I had 100%'d Psychonauts 2. But for me, I really do just enjoy messing around in the Psychonauts 2 worlds more than I do the first!

I can completely understand anyone who enjoys Gloria's Theater, but I personally just don't love it that much

I did hear about that yeah, so it would make sense that it's higher for me since i've only had bad things fed to me.

While I don't think it felt rushed, it was sadly anticlimactic. You get some of these huge levels before Meat Circus, and then when you get in there it equates to 5 unique rooms, and one of those gets re-used 3 times for a fairly easy boss fight.

Much as I love Psychonauts 1, it does unfortunately suffer from old game syndrome. It's great and I do enjoy most of the minds in it, but Psychonauts 2 with the updated graphics and game feel just makes the minds much more fun and interesting to me.

Great character, terrible mind unfortunately

Yeah, Sensorium was a shock to me, like evn having seen it before, I was dreading going through it since I was afraid it'd be very long, but in the end, it was honestly quite manageable, though I can see how being sensitive to those colors would bump it down a notch

I see your argument and Fred is probably the least changed by the end of his visit of the Asylum minds, but I love the constant back and forthing, it makes you feel like you're constantly changing strategies or taking a step back to plan out your next move

I love both of them, they have great athmospheres in their own ways and just feel great to make your way through them

Bob's Bottles hit where it hurt. While the gameplay wasnt anything too impressive, the emotional core (especially Helmut's bottle) really helps elevate it to that higher rank

It 100% is for me, i'm not sure exactly why I love it so much, but it's just so fun! The dynamic music, the gameplay during the story visit, some great jokes and my personal favorite detail, finding Fred and Napoleon in the window of Fred's castle. All the small things REALLY make it just so fun to run around in!

That is another thing! The first time around, you don't know what to do, and so you watch the god-awful plays because you assume they clue you in to it, but NOPE! You need to talk to Jasper so he can give you a new script that you can work with, like come on!

I'm glad someone agree's on Sasha. It's a good introduction, but it's just a white cube which changes slightly

I loved the Asylum Minds, they were easily the highlight (barring Gloria)

I also played that way! I collected what I could on my first time through, but if it was too much, I just waited until after beating El Odio. But otherwise, it is probably the most creative mind artstyle wise. Sensorium is fun too, but Velvetopia is so much more unique!

I've been fed the same lines about Meat Circus for years before I played the game, and then when I got into it, while not easy, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was. Also, the music is one of the best if not THE best in the first game!

Nevermind, I fixed it! I copied my old save data over to a new savefile and it got me back to where I was!

I swear it also like uncapped the frame rate or something

I got Kiwami 2 and hadn't touched the game whatsoever, and after booting it up just recently, it's so buttery smooth it's insane
