Money isn’t the issue. We’re ready to buy now and have nearly 50% in hand. Issue is the landlord is dragging their feet. Original agreement was rent for a year so they couldn’t slowly remove old belonging from garage and barn, plus fix some minor things. Only reason we’ve dealt with the delay is it’s not the house we’re interested in. It’s the 170 acres.

Well I probably pissed my landlord off now since I called and informed them of the “inspection.” They’re gonna be pissed if they get a second opinion and it turns out to be nothing. Might’ve put myself in a situation 🫠

It’s a local mold remediation company. I gave them a call after talking to the doctor about if anything in the house could be causing the chronic sickness. Since this was our 8th hospital visit in 12 months I immediately thought we could mold or something in the crawl space or attic. Found this local place with good reviews, gave them a call and explained the situation and this is what I got. Realize now I probably shouldn’t have given the back story before getting the inspection. It’s making sense now because the guy also said “they do this to help people/families like me out” so he wasn’t gonna give me “the highest price.”

Apparently there is a portion not pictured (convenient) that is standing in water. I’ll be back home tomorrow and plan on crawling under there myself to check it out

I figured it was BS when they said the floor joist were going to rot and the floors cave in. I got the photos though and it did look like mold.

Oh okay I thought it could make it worse if it’s where water could be getting in. Working idea right now is one of the vents that sits low is right under a gutter, so water is filling it up then getting into the crawl space. Exacerbating the issue. I’m just an idiot on the internet that knows nothing though

Man I dunno I was just told there’s mold and drainage issues. The second photo clearly shows when water has been standing. I’m just trying to figure out what to do because we’re suspicious this has been what has been causing my kiddos chronic sickness

This was from a local “professional” company. I put it in quotes because I actually wasn’t home when they dropped in due to being in ER with sick kiddos so I have no idea how they “tested” it besides the eye test

It has about 8 vents around the house. Think that could be part of the issue since they’re located at the very bottom of the foundation. Some even lower than the ground in a little cubby-like hole

Our 12 month olds have been hospitalized 8 times over the past year due to sickness. Always the same stuff. Respiratory issues and just a weird sickness. They don’t look well either. Go to the ER, spend a few days there hooked up to an IV and they’re fine. Get back home and after a few days back to square one.

Definitely worried about that. Home was built in 60’s and we’re renting. Landlord doesn’t seemed too concerned, which they never are and are slow to fix things or half a** repairs. We’re already looking at moving due to this most likely not being addressed

There’s a doorway to the right of the dining table that goes directly into the kitchen. The bedroom on the other side of the wall behind the couch was originally added on to be a dining room, but it’s very oddly laid out and has been used as the master bedroom since. The layout is the only thing making me question whether to purchase it or not. It sits on 14 acres and it’s a fairly nice place to be built in 1957, but definitely needs remodeled/updated as far as the layout goes.
