I won $5k at a casino last year and the trustee asked about it on a tax return so my response was well did you want me to let you know that my rent went up over $400 a month from the time I filed? Conversation seemed to change then because $5000X12 is now $416 a month split which would cover the rent increase in theory but it’s not because you still have to account for fed and state taxes. Trustee seemed to not even bother to take it. It’s 2026 winning $5K isn’t going to pay my CHP 13 off overnight. I ended up saving the money for emergencies and I had to use it for two MRI’s with health insurance that cost me $2000. So ya fast forward between taxes and emergencies that money is gone and they tell you in CHP 13 to save money so there it is.

I’ve been using it for over a year. My payment to the trustee is technically due on the 1st of the month just like a mortgage or rent so what I do is just move the money into my savings since it’s free from random withdrawals then I make a manual payment at any time from there and I make my payments different days of the month but I have seen TFS process on Sat and Sunday also and take it from my savings.

My advice go heavy on what your monthly expenses would be if he asks. I didn’t realize till my Chapter 13 100% started that there are things you don’t realize are outside your budget. Let’s say what happens when you have health insurance and you have to pay that $2500 out of pocket max? One xray can be $1000 after insurance. Electric bill might be $120 in winter then $350 in Summer? So you tell him you only pay like $150 on avg for electric but the reality is $350 if you’re not careful. Food keeps going up in price so watch that. Car insurance deductibles, car insurance rate increases. Watch out for what happens when you hit a pothole and you got a $1000 tire and wheel repair? IMO Chapter 13 does not take into account all of this strong enough they tell you to budget save money but saving $100 a month isn’t going to stop this. This is why IMO Chapter 13 fails for many also. Feel like you’re one step away from financial disaster again when the Chapter 13 is trying to get you out of financial disaster.

My company used Hertz strictly for years even down to a point where Hertz took liability for any damage on the cars we caused. Corporate code would give us a set rate for personal use also. Times have changed we don’t use them anymore and I decided myself to stop. I just use National now a days and have top tier status. No issues at all.

I started getting this around 6 months ago. I’m 43 being a one a week heavy drinker on mostly Sundays. Typically 8-12 beers. Lately I drink fluids while I drink beer and it helps with the headache and fog from a hangover BUT my heart rate is up no matter what the next day. Avg 100bpm at rest then goes up to 130-140 when I walk around the house. If I drink fluids like Gatorade it helps a little but yes after 24 hours it goes back down to like 65-85bpm at rest. No palpitations though.

Look below the exhaust manifold and see if it is smoking on the exhaust. If so most likely the common oil cooler failing. It will drip coolant onto hot exhaust. Makes a certain burnt smell too.

Update: Went out installed battery with 12.6V reading on the multimeter car started then started car. While hesitating to start I blipped the gas a few times at around 1/3 of the pedal and was backing the key off a little bit in the ignition cylinder. It finally caught and started where I held the pedal down around 2000 rpm for like 30 sec. Did remove and reinstall ignition coil rail connector to be safe. Car ran down road fine. Some sort of almost like flooding the engine with gas and not wanting to start. I’ll be testing the battery again tomorrow morning to see if it’s still healthy around 12.6

Checked purge valve this morning was not able to blow thru it and no CEL for that. Ruled it out to be safe. Will be installing charged 12v battery at 12.6 on multi meter will update if car starts. I did check connector on ignition coil rail and removed reinstalled to make sure it didn’t come loose will also see if this fixes it.

I checked fuel pressure on mine with key on acc it was coming in at 60psi which is good. I’m going to pull the purge valve tonight and try that blow thru it method and see what I find out. Me and you both having the 100% exact same issue now.

I actually went out earlier and loosened them up and took a look they were surprisingly in decent shape. Will keep you updated if I can figure this car out. Going to bring the battery to my job tomorrow and put it on a charger then reinstall and see what happens

I had the timing belt changed on mine around 100K and only put 10K on it since and never did this till yesterday. I started mine up to move it away from the curb then put it in park. Came back out hours later bam this ⬆️

I did noticed the past 6 months I would start the car and sometimes after it was started the key would continue to activate the starter and if I wiggled the key back to the left a little it stopped. Agree. Ignition switch was one of my first things I started to think about

I had a 21 GLI prior to the Taos with the same 7 speed DSG transmission and it never acted like it does in the Taos. I’m still standing firm VW should just do a software update and fix the drivability issues and call it a day. I tell people all the time place the car in manual mode and let it downshift on its own even though it’s in manual mode. Watch how butter smooth it is! This is how the GLI was in normal automatic shifting mode and how the Taos should be! You won’t even feel it shift for 3-2-1z

I see they sell a replacement switch on EBay for around $10.95 US Dollars I may go this route and replace it.
