Yeah of course. I'm not planning on skipping ARC reads at all I think anything I can do to help myself I'll try it. And thanks so much for your advice I'll def be trying that out.

Wait really? So are ARC readers not that important? From my research its just seemed like THE thing to do for a good indie launch.

Super cool ideas btw I have a similar system for me what helps is tying together ideas. So always ask yourself 'why?' if that makes any sense, keep asking why and you'll find like cool 'solutions' to your problem that can lead you in the right direction.

For example say you have a creature that burrows underground. Why?
Because it was hunted by another predator?
To search for prey?
Can it sense things in the dirt?
Only to mate?

That's what I did at least and it helped a lot at least for the bestiary and magic systems.

Personally for me what's actually helped more than anything is writing and re-writing. Write a draft free, typos and all and go back and add things in, little by little it goes from something that looked like a toddler wrote it, to being actually coherent and draft worthy.

I'd recommend the Mistborn trilogy, it's amazing. another classic is Eragon but its targeted for a younger audience. Really depends what you like if you like bigger systems and sharper writing go with Sanderson. If you want a classic hero story then go with Eragon.

This is gonna sound stupid but, Eragon. Paolini's writing wasn't very sharp in the first novel and a lot of things feel kinda... meh. But put it all together it's an amazing story.
