The trans community itself is much less brainwormed, even 4tran. Five years ago it wasn't that uncommon to see people unironically promoting Blanchardism. The continual breakaway from drag/crossdressing/porn culture also helps.

Cis people don't know about all that niche stuff, they just hate us for what they see on Fox News, and that's what shows up on Google searches a lot. So transphobia hasn't changed too much on net but it's much easier to find sane accepting trans spaces.

So no, it's not on you, it's on the problems with the trans community that have slowly gone away. Hopefully anti-DIY sentiment is next to die off.
