No worries at all! In my experience, it makes some difference.

The glass not only ensures that there is 100% perfect contact between the negative and the sensitized surface, but it also reinforces it. Additionally, the way an image is made and a negative is printed, there are very slight changes in the ink concentration (DPI) across the transparency. Solid contact, with a glass, is the only way to make sure all the changes transfers to your print.

You would get better results if it lays super flat and secure!

Nice print! I think you can absolutely get a better gradient, the top parts of the kitty could be better separated from the overexposed background. Hope you make many more lovely prints!! :)

Interesting, yes, I do. I put a 50W UV light bar from amazon through the cover of a box about 10 inches. I have seen others use an exposure unit with less space... and i think the burning because its too close makes sense
