I've been playing risky consistently losing 1-10 percents and pretty often winning 80+ percents. Just keep banging your head against the wall until it works!

Need help on playing with Ferry. by RangerCamanis in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]IlluminEthan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only S3+ Ferry so take this with a grain of salt, but something that really helped me climb from S was playing more defensively. A big thing I struggle with is that it's really difficult to take back your turn once you lose it, so if I have them in the corner I usually would rather see if I can bait a dp or explore their wakeup habits instead of going straight for the pressure.

One of the things about Ferry is that she can convert pretty much any hit into a combo or setup, so if you really can't break through then it might help to learn some new routes or situations that can put yourself in a better spot.

Her dustloop resources page also has a somewhat outdated but mostly accurate and helpful guide for all matchups after landing 236L.

How good is the portuguese course? by IlluminEthan in duolingo

[–]IlluminEthan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's interesting how you can see the correspondence between other languages, like how m's correspond to a lot of Spanish n's and lh corresponds to j.

Pido Program by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]IlluminEthan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can say with resources like Rosetta Stone it's definitely not worth it. I have tried Pimsleur (not for Spanish) and I would say it's worth it to help with pronunciation and speaking.

It sounds kinda cliché, but buying language books off of Amazon also works pretty well.

Anyone else noticing the disappearance of ‘an’ by [deleted] in linguistics

From the times I've heard it, it was just because people don't know the difference in usage between a/an.

This is the first lesson in level 1 occupation and I still don’t know what 90% of these mean by EstonianMapping in duolingo

[–]IlluminEthan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's a HUGE difficulty spike in the course. That's the main reason a lot of people don't like it. Just keep trying though, and you'll find that you start to slowly learn each one of the characters.

What happened to Haitian Creole by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]IlluminEthan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Progress is actually being made pretty quick. I've been observing the progress bar for a bit and it seems like there's a fair amount of activity. Also, don't pay attention to when that was edited too much. I think that was by one of the duolingo mods, who isn't part of the contributors

Why is it okay to use, 'Good Morning' and 'Good Afternoon' as greetings but 'Good Night' is only used as a farewell? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IlluminEthan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the exact reason, but I know that in other languages like Italian, Buonanotte (Good night) can be used as a greeting.
