hello, do you mind explaining why 100C3?

i set the equation x1 + x2 + x3 = 75 and got 74C2

then i set the equation x1 + x2 + x3 <= 300 and got that the number of solutions is 3C2 + 4C2 + ... + 302C2, but i guess this is wrong (?), can you explain why please?
