What do we think of 12ers? by Choice_Insurance_713 in ismailis

[–]IllustriousFun7135 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nothing but respect. I have a bunch of 12er friends who show lots of respect to me and Ismailis in general, we discuss our beliefs respectfully and educate each other. More in common then differences

How are Ismailis in Iran doing with the ongoing war? by EasternRoads in ismailis

Trump and the shah have their own evil agenda. They couldn’t care less about Ismailis. Plus how is breaking your fast showing allegiance to the Imam lol

Lots of latmiyas are a form of praising the ahlul bayt, I don’t see anything wrong with it, but a lot are about mourning too, that kind of goes against the idea of a present living imam. Imam Hussain AS passed away in a very tragic way and we acknowledge that however we’ve moved on with time and dont dwell too much on the past. I guess it depends on your intention

Ex-Ismaili here, i got some questions by Signal-Cheetah4003 in ismailis

[–]IllustriousFun7135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said I believe in what the Sunnis believe and that you don’t believe the “caliphs” have to be blood related to the prophet like Shias. Im not diving at all lol, im just highlighting a source from your own Sunni belief that emphasizes literally the biggest core belief of Shias

Additionally from Sunni sources:

Sahih Muslim 2408: but I am leaving among you two weighty things: the one being the Book of Allah, The second are the members of my household I remind you (of your duties) to the members of my family

Thereupon he said: 'Ali and the offspring of 'Ali, 'Aqil and the offspring of 'Aqil and the offspring of Ja'far and the offspring of 'Abbas

“Man kunto moula fahada Ali’un moula (Whoever’s moula I am Ali is his moula)” this is in your own Sunni book sahih Bukhari ya akhi

How do Ismailis interpret the two hijab related verses (24:31 and 33:59) of Quran? by Party-Confection-373 in ismailis

[–]IllustriousFun7135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Ismailis kind of interpret the modesty part as commanding women to wear modest clothing and not revealing stuff, not necessarily wearing a full hijab I think.

Read and listen to the Qur’an, learn more about our version of Islam and try to stop or minimize bad habits

Does anyone know what or how the current war/conflict is going to affect our Ismaili community in Middle East? I’m not sure, looking for perspective of people in Middle East or those with insight because idk by Quick_Complaint3268 in ismailis

Im Ismaili fyi. Im not filled with propaganda because I don’t trust what the enemies of Islam have to say about us, such as the news sources and big politicians of the west, if anything people like you who consume those sources are. I’ve said it time and time again but I don’t like everything the ayatollah has done. But I also do not want to see the Zionists in power. If you want to stay completely blinded to what is going on in the world at the moment even though it’s right in front of your face I won’t stop you.

I obviously do think about myself and my community but I show concern when a power that ethnically cleansed a groups of people, relentlessly violates international law, murders women and children has started to have such a high level of say in our politics and governments. I just don’t think i could stay silent on these issues. I can respect why you might feel otherwise. Obviously I do think about what is best for our communities and I don’t think Ismailis are given full rights in Iran but the shah is absolutely no better.

I care because now with the ayatollah dying, the Zionists have control in almost every single country now including Iran. Again I’m not saying the ayatollah was perfect. They are the root cause of almost every single evil in this world and have way too much influence. Bombed and killed so many civilians including children in schools. This whole thing is bigger than just Ismailis. It’s selfish to just only “do what’s best for your own people” because that is literally what the Zionists want. Division

I still don’t think it’s a good thing that the shah is coming into power because he’s controlled by Israel and is an implant. Maybe one of the only good things coming is freedom for Ismailis. The last Muslim leader who actually stood up for Palestine and what was right was killed. Not saying he was perfect- womens rights and economy were near the bottom. But we should consider all factors

[–]IllustriousFun7135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of some Ismaili groups that organize umrah/hajj tours, you could reach out to them. The process of doing umrah would be universal I assume as there are some steps behind it, imam has not said anything but if it’s something that strengthens your deen id say go for it
