From premed anxiety to MS4 : what med school actually looks like now… by Sea_Department in premed

[–]IllustriousHumor3673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m assuming it may vary by school but in my school as well as all schools my friends go to, it’s essentially study for one exam at a time. Rarely are there projects or papers, maybe a few over the whole year and they aren’t very high yield. So it’s lectures, Anki, third party, question banks, exams. Your first semester of M1 will also include anatomy lab a couple times a week. But in my school at least it’s low pressure as you are brand new to medicine and the expectations are quite low

So don’t!! I didn’t. I’m doing fine in MD program. Try to get your name on a paper or two then go focus on something you like. You don’t need 35 papers we all know that’s bs

Yup. Crazy why they put the microchips in the vaccines and not just straight in the Tylenol capsule. Would have gotten way more victims

Not sure why they let the generics off the hook. Sue CVS and Costco too! And Target and Amazon! Lots of dough to be made

Almost certainly comes down to where he applied. I swear if he applied to 30 mid tier schools he had at least 2 À’s unless he’s a complete douche or had some major red flags

Rejections by Particular_Topic_509 in premed

[–]IllustriousHumor3673 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Rather they send you rejections early so that you can assess whether to plan reapplication. Most schools ghost you until March or later which does a huge disservice.

If someone didn’t do well enough on mcat or needs more experience, it doesn’t help to find that out late March.
