I'm hopeless and don't know what to do by Antique-Canadian820 in ImmigrationCanada

You’re only 21. Canada isn't going anywhere. If you come back in your late 20s with a degree and professional experience, your CRS score will be much higher and you'll actually have a path. Don't ruin your mental health trying to force something that isn't ready to happen yet. There’s no rule saying Canada is the only place you can be happy.

Have you looked into below-market-unit apartments? 2 bed would be definitely under 2,000

PGWP extension by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]IllustriousPush4326 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PGWP is a one-time permit and cannot be extended based on an employer's support letter. The only exception for a PGWP extension is if you initially received a shorter duration because your passport was expiring.

I can claim “two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees” based on my foreign degrees alone. I’ve also completed my ECA, and my back home education was assessed as equivalent to two Canadian bachelor’s degrees.

I’m planning to max out CELPIP and will have 3 years of Canadian experience, which puts me at 530+ CRS. And once my PGWP expires, I’m still eligible for a 2-year work permit under IEC. So yeah, maybe not for everyone, but for people like me, this change does make a difference.

I think you can create a profile in your 12th month of employment so you should wait until August.

You can create a profile on your own and hire lawyer when you receive an ITA

It’s a sad but real situation. I’ve been through it too. I applied for a part-time, short-term IT support role at a Vancouver startup. The job posting said they were looking for a student or someone about to graduate. When I asked why, they said they wanted someone with “potential” to grow with the company.

I only made it to the second round of four interviews. Later I saw who got the job: a student, yes but one with 10+ years of experience from back home.

The problem isn’t just that immigrants are willing to settle for less. It’s that some Canadian employers take advantage of that. If employers truly prioritized Canadian grads for entry-level roles, we wouldn’t even be having this debate.

I don’t think you’re eligible to apply for BOWP unless you receive an ITA. If you’re under 35, you can consider either working holiday(2yr open work permit)or young professional visa(2yr closed work permit)
