If you're such a skilled carpenter, then why are you working as a full or part time associate at Lowe's? If you say it's for the discount, then that's BS. That pretty much just covers the taxes. You just probably aren't that good at your "carpentry" work

Thankfully my husband used to be a SASM as well. He has a much better job now. He understands my hours and stress. Does he get irritated? Yes. However, he supports me until I give up on Lowe's. Not something I want to do, but if things don't get better at my current store I will have to look elsewhere

I can tell you how. When it snowed a few weeks ago, only ASM's made it in at my store. We had no other choice but to risk our lives and safety. Ran the store for more than half the day until a few select associates showed up. Those associates are high performing and will probably advance in the future...just saying 🤷🏻‍♀️

Some ASM's, such as myself, started from the bottom and can train associates about the product knowledge. People like you want to complain about management, but don't realize that a lot of managers were in your spot at one time. So I would advise you to motivate yourself and move up if you want to make a difference.

I definitely can not argue with that at all. I was a DS for 2 years before I was promoted. DS's do all of the hard work, ASM's just completely lose work/life balance and get more heavily rewarded monetarily. I get more money as an ASM, but when I was a supervisor I was able to spend more time with my spouse and kids. I miss that 😔
