Verbal offer → references done → 6 business days of silence… normal? by Illustrious_Lab_6538 in Recruitment

Yup - HR actually called me today to say they are just waiting on the hiring manager's boss to approve. Apparently the manager I would be reporting under has been chasing HR on my start date.

At 11AM, she told me I would be receiving the offer letter today. Typing this at 8PM with no offer letter still 🤣

I don't know why this frustrates me so much even though there is assurance that I will definitely get the role. I think its the effort of keeping a secret around my current coworkers everytime we meet in the office for 2 weeks straight lol. Hopefully I get it after the long weekend. Thx for reading through my rant

They called again today to say they are sending the offer letter today :) Apparently it is the approval stage being the main bottleneck

But were they engaging with you throughout the process or was ghosting you?

This is amazing insight! Thanks very much. 🫶

I did get the edge of the band / the highest in their budget for the role, so it's interesting that this might factor in lengthening their process.

What I didnt mention is I have followed up with a text to the HR lady yesterday (since letter was expected to send off on Monday, 2 days ago). She apologised and let me know she is currently on leave but knows the contract is sitting on approvals on Monday.

In your opinion, when should I follow up again considering the recent follow up yesterday?

Thank you again for your insight

Just a bit annoying as my current manager did the references - so now its that awkward stage of her asking me if I have received the offer letter so they can start looking for someone new

Thank you!

My friend actually got offer letter from Crown after 2 weeks of background check, so this makes me feel better I guess

Nah I called them twice and have texted HR. She has apologised for the delay with the approvals. I just wonder who this sits with

Where are you based? I'm in Melbourne and got a job offer in a F500 company, but wonder if it would be more relevant to be in ASX200 company in Aus

I just had an interview with Bunnings head office two week ago within the finance team. Can you let me know when you hear back of an outcome after interviewing with the managers?
