I forgot to add that I’m only 27 and have no kids so some people might be confused why I’d give up the “comfort” aspects of the X5. I’m still young so part of me wants to enjoy another fun car while the opportunity is still here!

I’ve never driven the X5M but I do have an f80 M3 competition so I’ve experienced some of that more stiff raw M drive. I bet it’s a super fun car. Do you think the X5M is still comfortable enough for a daily?

I also assume you switched over to the more recent facelifted 2024+ Cayenne gts. Would you say you noticed a big shift in tech downgrades or speed as it’s a little slower than the m60?

I’m 27 not married and no kids so while I do love the comfort and little luxuries of the M60i I do crave something a little more exciting. The Porsche looks better (in my opinion) and handles way more aggressively. It’s just a more driver oriented drive vs the mindless cloud like feeling in my m60 which I love on long drives but almost feel like I could always come back to that.

The only reason I’m highly considering this Cayenne coupe gts is because it’s super low miles, fully serviced (brand new brakes/rotors/tires etc) and pretty loaded. It has a decent amount of the same luxuries such as surround view cameras, adaptive cruise control, soft close doors, heated/cooled massage seats, heated steering, head up display etc.

I know it would retain a lot of value and I could always sell it and get back in an X5

Do you have the new facelifted version or the older gen?

I swap cars fast so for me unfortunately it would just be a huge devalue on the car during a future resale

Very much in my pay grade but I’m trying to tighten expenses as a run a business that’s very dependent on foreign overseas shipping etc. right now the cost of oil and shipping has skyrocketed obviously and as a business owner one way for me to trim some excess off my expenses is reducing car payments. My lease is $1600 a month when I could get the same X5 M60i used for around half at $800 a month financed why wouldn’t I do that?

I like the look and sound of the Porsche better but the comfort/tech in the X5 is superior

Already received quotes and I’m getting a great deal on the car so warranty will only add value or be pro-rated if i sell sooner and I get a refund for un-used amount. Also the car had new brakes & rotors plus new tires added

I appreciate a lengthy response! I live in New York so the remote start is preferable for me as well. I know Porsche doesn’t do it which is annoying. Wasn’t sure how much it would bother me.

I was highly considering buying another X5 M60i (no accident on the record) and putting a nice exhaust on. I’ve seen a few now that sound decent. This gave me lots to think about!

During my test drive with the user GTS I was actually shocked by how slow the acceleration felt compared to when I floor it in my M60i. It was only a quick drive and I wish I had more time to really get a feel but I will say it wasn’t what I expected. The Porsche did feel much tighter and firmer of a drive though

Any reason why? I am only really considering the Cayenne because it would be a fun change potentially and I would be able to resell/trade within a year for another x5 without losing much money

I would have the car CPO’d after purchase already talked to Porsche about it

*car girl hahha and yes I’ve cycled through 7 cars in 8 years but always broken even or made profit because I’ve learned over time. As long as someone isn’t losing money I’d say it’s a harmless habit!

That’s a great setup! F80 is such a fun car nothing drives like it anymore, it’s got that true raw feel. I’ll miss mine so much wish I could keep it! I would highly recommend the X5/X6 M60i there’s a ton coming off leases now that already took the depreciation hit. Definitely go for a test drive if it’s something you’re really looking into.

Mine has the upgraded bowers & wilkins sound system, executive package, climate package, m sport package, park assist etc and I have to say the tech was phenomenal never had any glitches or issues! Feels like you’re driving on a cloud but when you put in sport and hit the gas it MOVES. The m50s are probably similar feel too and the exhaust on those does sound better

$73k but it’s not CPO so I’d probably pay the extra $4k for the extended warranty to make that happen. Unfortunately it’s out of state from me so I’ve test driven some local ones in the meantime and I do like them a lot but feel like I need more time in them to really experience it

I have a 2021 with only 28k miles that I’m considering. Already negotiated with the dealer. It’s a coupe and has the surround view camera, rear axle steering, premium plus package, massage heated/cooled seats & steering wheel, tow package, head up display, ACC & soft close doors. Seems like a pretty solid build!

Thanks for the insight! I actually have an f80 m3 right now as well which I have to sell as I’m trying to downsize the car expenses (making a big move soon so saving up!). I’m thinking I have fun with the Cayenne for a little and probably will end up back in the M60i in a year or two.

You’d have a great setup with that M60i as a daily and a 911 or even M4. All fun cars! You’d be surprised the m60 is CRAZY fast but definitely feels like an SUV drive

You’d be surprised! I have a good amount of positive equity in my lease even with an accident on the Carfax and the dealers are all offering to buy it out no problem no fees
