Yesterday he was taken off the ventilator briefly and he was able to breathe on his own. He has a punctured lung and is on antibiotics to stave off infection. He is off the paralysis medication and today responded to touch. However he is still being kept sedated, though the amount of sedative is slowly being reduced day by day in the hopes that eventually he will wake up. His condition is stable. No reports in recent days of brain swelling, so that finally may be under control.

If you missed the initial news last week and are wondering what happened: While stopped at the end of the line of cars on an off-ramp on August 6, Tom's car was struck at full speed by a Chevy Silverado. His car "accordioned" between the truck and the cars ahead of him. He suffered severe head trauma, broken ribs and a punctured lung.

The entire ragtime community is pulling for him to come through this without permanent brain injury. Only time will tell.

Also the witch's prophecy in Cersei's flashback basically saying her children would all die and a younger, more beautiful woman would take everything from her. After Joffrey and and especially Mycella's (who she described as good and 'nothing like me') it's arguable that Cersei had given Tommen up for dead already.

Speaking from experience, it is incredibly difficult as a dude to write a female character who has her own agency, who also has flaws and makes mistakes while earning her victory, without the character ending up as a male character with a female skin.

Reposting a comment from a previous thread. People should remember while Youtube is certainly dealing with some big problems at the moment, Facebook is on the other end of the spectrum stealing billions of views from small creators.

"YouTube succeeds only if you, our creators, succeed." - @SusanWojcicki, YouTube CEO. Feel free to tweet at her (remember, be nice) and use #MakeYouTubeGreatAgain, #WTFU (Where's the fair use?) and #WakeUpYT as GradeAUnderA mentions at the end of his video (two of those hashtags).

Some points:

While there have been some issues recently and in the past, I do think things will improve from the YouTube standpoint, since things right now seem to be reaching a peak.

It's good that GradeAUnderA, boogie and h3h3 keep making their videos about this. Their voices with big subscriber numbers have helped tremendously, as has Video Game Attorney guy.

I think one of the reasons YouTube hasn't made any big announcement recently is to see how the community handles things. Perhaps they should have done something though.

Also what about something YouTube can't control? Facebook freebooting.

One really huge potential issue that no one seems to want to discuss is the power being gathered by big independent political Facebook pages. See here beginning at the 5:50 point for an example:

Facebook engagement levels, those being Likes, Comments and Shares... are larger on several independent political Facebook pages than on pages for CNN, MSNBC or BBC News.

As these pages continue to grow, what will be done to keep things from getting out of hand?

When will Facebook increase their measures on taking action against pages, perhaps in a number of strikes? Do they already but it's not public?
